I used to get Seasonal Affective Disorder, SAD, a mild form of depression from the lack of exposure to Sunlight during the winter. Even in the summer, with a considerable coverage of clothing, the skin may not be sufficiently exposed to Sunlight to make sufficient Vitamin D. I take 2000 IU once a day, year round, and it resolved the SAD issue. Blood Testing for Vitamin D is worthwhile, and mine was 27 ng/ml on the last blood test, and that’s with taking Vitamin D at 2000 IU per day. 30 ng/ml is the target range as minimum, currently, but 20 ng/ml was the previous minimum, and I’m comfortably over that. My Doctor said 27 ng/ml is fine, just try and get more sunlight exposure.
I take Coumadin and other medications, changes in Diet should be approved of by a Doctor for people on certain medications (a Pharmacist should be able to offer guidance). I have to eat a consistent level of Vitamin K, within reason, as too much reduces the effect of Coumadin, with clots being more likely, and too little Vitamin K increases chances for Prolonged Bleeding.

I had a cardiologist who wanted me on Coumadin. She was just temporary for me. When I changed doctors, he indicated the 81mg-aspirin was fine for me.
