Current Occupancy in Fredericksburg, Texas:

Public Viewing spots are Marktplaz & Lady Bird Johnson State Park.

Extra toilets and dumpsters will be at both locations with a traffic light at Lady Bird park to aid traffic control.

They are expecting:

● 100k people in Fredericksburg
(Oktoberfest is usually 40k, Christmas parade had 26k)

● 400k in Kerrville

● 1.5 million in the Hill Country

H-E-B Food/Drugs is urging local residents to get their groceries by April 1st. Beginning April 5th they are having security in their parking lots and towing vehicles if owners aren’t in the stores.

Fredericksburg Methodist Hospital indicates they are prepared for a “Mass Casualty Event.”

The  high school’s parking lot will be blocked off to the public for extra hospital parking and they have their helicopter on standby.

41 Wineries are having events with tickets sold to already 10k people.The Visitors Center is working on a list of places open April 8th and all restaurants are encouraged to stay open to help with HEB supply.

Kerrville, located just southwest of Fredericksburg, will host the Kerrville Eclipse Festival on April 8. Free parking at a downtown garage is limited and first-come-first-serve.

Off-site event parking at Tivy High School must be secured in advance for $60, as the festival will not offer at-the-gate sales.

Shuttles will take guests from the high school to the festival.

Parking costs will increase to $100 at 8 a.m. March 11.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has selected Kerrville as a primary partner location for the  solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. NASA will be broadcasting these events live. 

Enchanted Rock State Park has 55 RV spots and they had 98k people call about them. They will have 250 day passes they haven’t opened yet.

A partial eclipse will be visible in all other state parks.
