How to Beat Marxist Liberals With the Overton Window

Is the tide beginning to turn against the left? Even if so, there is still much more work to be done to save our freedoms.

It is critical to understand and share about the most important tool that the leftists and globalists use to manipulate public perceptions and opinions.  This tool is the Overton Window, and once it is fully understood, it can be a powerful tool to use against those who mislead.

🔹First created by Joseph Overton, a former senior Vice President of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, the Overton window is a mechanism used by political elite to determine the viability of a movement or idea.

🔹If something is within “the window,” it is seen as a “normal” or “respectable” position or belief that a citizen is allowed to possess.

🔹If a belief or movement is placed on the outside of the window, it is deemed “extreme,” “outlandish,” or “foolish” by the powers that be.

🔹This is an incredibly effective tool that can be used to control an entire population because it only requires a powerful individual or small group of individuals to first decide what is acceptable or extreme, and then use the government, religious institutions, and the media to push ideas that are deemed “acceptable.”

🔹It is especially potent because this “window” is never fixed in one place, meaning that it can be moved in any direction based on both external factors and the user’s beliefs.

The Overton Window in Action

The issue only became “popular” after a few court cases and favorable media attention.

A great example of the Overton Window in action can be seen in the Gay, Lesbian, Transsexual, Bi-Sexual, or Pan-Unicorn rights movement.  In the 1990s, and even in George W. Bush’s second term over a decade ago, this movement had very little political power behind it.

Even with the heavy artillery provided by Hollywood elites, and leftist strongholds like Massachusetts and California, most Americans were either apathetic or opposed to gay marriage and the gay lobby itself was never able to portray themselves as a mainstream part of American society.

This all changed in 2008 with California’s Proposition 8, a ballot referendum where a majority of the Californians voted in favor of defining a marriage as between a man and a woman.

Even though the gay lobby lost the popular vote, they were able to overturn the will of the people by appealing the vote and ensuring that the case ended up in the hands of a leftist judge.  Their legal victory over Proposition 8 signaled a shift in the window, in which homosexuality and other similar identities were now mainstream, and any criticism of them was now “bigoted” or “extreme.”

Because of this, we have now seen stories of:

🔹executives being fired from their jobs for believing in traditional marriage.

🔹businesses being boycotted and banned from cities because they wouldn’t bow to the gay lobby.

🔹Christian bakers being fined six figures and slapped with a gag order because they refused to bake a cake for a gay couple.

Such a change would not have been possible without moving the Overton window in a direction favored by Marxist Liberals.

How we can manipulate the Overton Window

They are pushing the unacceptable to be accepted: pedophile, males in female sports competition, men in women’s restrooms, socialism, etc.

The political elite hates it when someone like Trump turns the window back on them.

Just because these politicians and social engineers have enjoyed success in using the Overton Window, this doesn’t mean that their enemies can’t use it as well.

🔹One notable example of the potential that shifting the Overton window would create, can be seen with Donald Trump’s run for President.  Before Trump announced his candidacy, the race was going to look very much like a repeat from 2012, where a Republican and Democratic candidate that were both anointed by the media and the political class would pretend to have major disagreements over policy and ideology, but would really disagree over one or two minor issues.

🔹This all changed when Trump declared his candidacy, at roughly the exact same time that news surrounding the shooting death of Kate Steinle at the hands of an illegal immigrant began to circulate.

Kate Steinle popular meme

Trump made illegal immigration and border security his primary issue and followed up with a variety of pro-America First within the popularity of the Overton Window boundaries.  Soon his candidacy garnered widespread support amongst a wide cross-section of the American public.

Trump’s presidency itself was solid evidence of America’s ability to move the window in direction of the will of the people rather than the will of elite propagandists and corruption.

Trump’s focus on America First MAGA issues resulted in the window being moved further to the right than it has been in decades.  Even a decade ago, a modern border wall and a ban on migrants from countries compromised by terrorists would’ve been unheard of. Trump made these proposals mainstream.

How did the elite media deal with this? They fought every step of the way. Just do a social media search on “Trump immigration” to their vile propaganda.

Understanding and using the Overton Window is critical for patriotic freedom loving America to shift public opinion away from being woke, critical race theory, believing the sea is rising or even the next tragedy of the season (new ice age, or global temperatures increasing, or climate change or the sky is falling).

Americans must not allow politicians, government, media or foreign nations to control the Overton Window in regards to our rights, freedoms and values. Such efforts include our free speech battles with Facebook, culture war with campus radicals, and exposĂ©s concerning Hillary’s, Obama’s, or the Biden Crime Family’s dirty secrets.

We must destroy the ratings of mainstream media, cable news, social engineered television programming and Hollywood propaganda by shifting the window further in the direction for Americans freedoms and rights first.

Here is another classic example of how politicians try to move the “Overton Window” to favor their benefit or stance on an issue.

🔹In 2010, Texas Governor Rick Perry decided three large freeways needed to be turned into toll roads to bring in more tax revenue.

🔹This idea was totally outside the comfort levels of Texans “Overton Window.”

🔹Perry’s allies decided that instead of putting forth legislation to turn those freeways into toll roads, the narrative went out by mainstream media that private companies from other countries would operate the toll roads.

🔹Predictably, citizens response was not only, “NO, HELL NO! How dare you let a foreign company put a toll on an American.”

🔹Media narrative and propaganda went into full mode to bring the idea safely into the Overton Window realm of possibilities: “If anyone is going to charge a toll on Texas soil, it dang sure better be someone from the Lone Star State…at the very least an American.”

The window moved from something unacceptable to a what the gullible public deemed a reasonable option.

Cha-Ching! $$$

Have you driven through metropolitan Austin lately? Proudly, the community boasts a motto of “Keep Austin Weird.” Their window is far left than practically the rest of Texas and most of the US.

A Texas man outside of Austin who threatened election and government officials in January 2021 was arrested today in Travis County, Texas.

Chad Stark, 54, of Leander, wrote “we have to exterminate these people,” “deer hunter in camo and a rifle can send a very clear message to these corrupt governors” and “we need to pay a visit to (an election official) and her family as well and put a bullet her behind the ears.”

Stark is scheduled to make his initial appearance this afternoon at the federal courthouse in Austin, Texas “for allegedly sending threatening election-related communications to government officials on Jan. 5, 2021,” a FBI release indicated.

This is the first criminal case brought by the Justice Department’s Election Threats Task Force. Announced by the Biden Administration last, the task force is to “address threats of violence against election workers, and to ensure that all election workers — whether elected, appointed or volunteer — are able to do their jobs free from threats and intimidation.”

Austin, TX Policy Advisor to City Pleads Guilty of Misapplying Federal Funds, Falsifying Records

A former city budget director of Austin, Texas pleaded guilty Friday to conspiring to misapply federal funds and falsify records with the intent to impede, obstruct, or influence an investigation into a matter within the jurisdiction of an agency of the United States.

According to court documents, in April 2015, Frank Rodriguez, 71, of Dripping Springs, began to serve as a senior policy advisor to an Austin city official.  Rodriguez had previously served as the Executive Director of Latino HealthCare Forum, the nonprofit he founded, relating to minority participation contracts spinning off from the CodeNEXT process. and as a member of a City advisory commission.

In June 2015, while employed by the City, Rodriguez submitted an application on the nonprofit’s behalf to a federal agency for federal Affordable Care Act navigator grant funding.  In the application, Rodriguez falsely stated that he was the nonprofit’s “Chief Development Officer” and “Authorized Representative.”

In September 2015, the nonprofit was awarded a federal grant pursuant to the application that he submitted.  Shortly thereafter, Rodriguez emailed an employee of the nonprofit, writing that he wanted to make sure that they “were on the same page with respect to [his] fee” for the grant, which was “10% of the grant.”

🔹In December 2015, Rodriguez emailed the nonprofit employee a draft “consulting agreement,” stating that he had drafted it so as to address “any issue that someone might have that the payments are for navigator grant work.”

🔹Rodriguez was subsequently paid more than $20,000 by the nonprofit in “consulting fees” between December 2015 and December 2016 after the execution of the “consulting agreement.”

🔹Those “consulting fees” were in fact a commission on the federal grant in return for his preparation of the grant application.

Rodriguez continued to work on the nonprofit’s behalf while a City employee by, among other things, providing confidential City information to the nonprofit, recommending that the nonprofit receive continued City funding, and undermining the nonprofit’s competitors for City funding.

🔹In 2017, the Auditor’s Office for the City of Austin commenced an investigation regarding Rodriguez’s conduct as a member of the City commission and as a City employee.

🔹In January 2018, during the course of the City Auditor’s investigation, Rodriguez drafted a letter to the City Auditor that contained multiple false statements regarding his relationship with the nonprofit, and the letter was later finalized and submitted to the City Auditor.

🔹At a June 2019 City ethics hearing, Rodriguez testified falsely under oath that the money he had been provided by the nonprofit was reimbursement for previous expenses incurred on the nonprofit’s behalf.

Rodriguez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to misapply federal funds and to falsify records in an investigation within the jurisdiction of an agency of the United States.  He is scheduled for sentencing on March 24, 2022 and faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

Texas Now Allows Additional Time For Online Renewal Eligibility

A new state law gives Texans additional time to renew their vehicle registration online. House Bill 2152 allows online registration renewals up to 12 months past the expiration date.

Previously, Texans could renew expired registrations online up to nine months past the expiration date. Customers who renew late will still be responsible for paying for a full year of registration.

Additionally, anyone renewing between 10 and 12 months after their registration expires will have the option to renew for both the current (past-due) registration year and the next registration year at the same time.

The month of expiration will not change for Texans using this option. Registration and local county fees will be doubled when registration is renewed for both years; however, only one Processing and Handling Fee will be charged.

Why Are Politicians and Illegal Aliens Exempt From the Experimental Vaccines?

If the vaccine is so important why do our government leaders and illegal aliens not have to take it?

Currently, 13 states that are Democratic with high vaccination rates have the highest â€ścase” rates (using a faulty PCR test), while Republican states are all doing better. How does this occur?

Let’s examine Texas, a large populated and diverse state. In January 2021, mainstream media were heavy with Dr. Anthony Fauci quotes and claims in their reporting.

At the time, there were just four counties in Texas willing to get the experimental COVID-19 “vaccines” at the high rate Fauci and media were pushing for. Three of them are in Central Texas. Note that the University of Texas and Texas State University are in those counties.

High vaccinated counties experience increased vaccine related deaths and illness.

Fauci promised during a December 2020 broadcast on CNBC, that counties reaching those levels of vaccinations “would develop an umbrella of immunity that would be able to protect even the vulnerable who have not been vaccinated or those in which the vaccine has not been effective.”

Fauci and the media were eventually proven wrong.

In most of Texas, about 52 percent of the population chose not get the vaccines. According to survey results from Carnegie Mellon’s COVIDcast and conducted by the Delphi Group, those models and predictions were unreliable for the longer term predictions.

In Travis, Hays, Williamson and El Paso (University of Texas at El Paso) counties, they reached high vaccine acceptance rates and surpassed the 80 percent threshold Fauci promised would do the job.

No other Texas counties reached above 80% in vaccine acceptance, out of 254 counties statewide.

  • 85.3% – Travis County
  • 82.1% – Hays County
  • 81.9% – Williamson County
  • 80.5% – El Paso County
  • 78.8% – Webb County
  • 78.1% – Fort Bend County
  • 77.6% – Collin County
  • 77.0% – Brazos County
  • 76.7% – Denton County
  • 75.2% – Nueces County
Texas is predominantly a red state. Ironically, blue counties experience highest vaccine injuries and deaths.

What did we learn?

1. Don’t trust Anthony Fauci.

2. Don’t trust the mainstream media

3. Vaccine hesitancy is multi-factorial and has little to do with level of education or intelligence. In another Carnegie Mellon University study, the educational level with the most vaccine hesitancy is the Ph.D. level. Those can all have been awarded to liberal arts majors. Clearly, scientists who can read the data and assess risk are among the least likely to take the mRNA vaccines.

Why should the vaccine program be stopped?

This enormous clinical trial of mRNA vaccines have caused millions of Americans to participate mostly out of fear. But over time, it has not been going well.

It is abundantly clear for anyone advocating for public health that the vaccination program should be stopped.

🔹Iceland has just stopped giving the Moderna vaccine to anyone which is a good step in the right direction.

🔹Sweden, Denmark, and Finland have banned the Moderna vaccine for anyone under the age of 30.

🔹Norway, Sweden, and Denmark have ended all COVID restrictions and are doing far better than the U.S., UK, and Israel, three countries that continue to vaccinate into the pandemic.

🔹Mexico, Guatemala, Indonesia, almost all of Africa, and parts of India have low vaccination rates and are doing much better than America. The difference? They manage the pandemic by using Ivermectin, not Big Pharma experimental vaccinations..

🔹VAERS, America’s vaccine adverse effect reporting system, (widely known to under-report events by 1-10%) indicate there are close to 17,000 deaths, 24,000 disabilities, 11,000 MI/myocarditis, 88,000 urgent care visits, 76,000 hospital stays, and 777,000 total adverse events.

🔹The European reporting system, Eudravigilance, shows about 26,000 deaths.

What is ‘Antibody Dependent Enhancement’?

Data from the CMS system (Medicare charts) showed over 48,000 deaths in the Medicare group shortly after taking the vaccine.

An AI-powered tracking program called Project Salus tracks the Medicare population and shows vaccinated Medicare recipients are having worse outcomes each week.

Their ailments, injuries and deaths are proving consistent with “Antibody Dependent Enhancement.” This occurs when the vaccine antibodies actually accelerate the infection leading to worsening COVID-19 infection outcomes.

Antibody Dependent Enhancement has occurred previously with trials of other coronavirus vaccines in animals. The CDC and the FDA are suppressing this data and no one who receives the vaccine has true informed consent.

Popular meme

Crimes against humanity?

The Rome declaration in Italy, has 6,700 medical signatories attesting that the handling of the pandemic amounts to crimes against humanity for denying the best medical treatment and continuing to advocate for harmful vaccines.

Each day more evidence arises for Americans to end the propaganda and mass mask psychosis.

The media narrative of perpetual fear is falling apart. Mexico, Guatemala, Indonesia, almost all of Africa, and parts of India have low vaccination rates and are doing much better than the US, something attributed to their managing the pandemic by using Ivermectin.

Denmark, Sweden, and Finland suspensions in vaccinating those under 30 years old with the Moderna vaccine was due to increases of myocarditis and pericarditis among youths and young adults that were vaccinated.

“The connection is especially clear when it comes to Moderna’s vaccine Spikevax, especially after the second dose,” the Swedish Health Agency announced.

Worldwide medical data shows 24 percent to 53 percent of people with myocarditis die within 3-10 years.

F–Joe Biden

Over 500,000 people attended the Sturgis, South Dakota motorcycle rally in August and there was no super spread of COVID-19. One survey showed 82 percent of attendees said they had not been jabbed.

Football season began in August and stadiums around the country continue to pack in an average of 86,456 fans yelling and screaming “F-Joe Biden” with no masks on. There have been no superspreader events, yet the students are forced to go back to masking in class.

Finally, President Donald J. Trump continues to hold record breaking attendance records at his Rally for America events. Despite media propaganda, their predicts have been wrong. There have been no superspreaders.

Way to Go, Fauci.

Texas Election Integrity Unit Formed by Attorney General

AUSTIN – Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced the formation of his 2021 Texas Election Integrity Unit.

This is a concentrated effort to devote agency lawyers, investigators, support staff, and resources to ensuring this local election season—which begins with early voting today, Monday, October 18—is run transparently and securely.

The Integrity Unit’s primary function is to serve as a focused resource to both election officials and the public. The agency will also monitor a public email address——to receive information about alleged violations of the Texas Election Code.

Although Attorney General Paxton leads an Election Integrity Division year-round, this 2021 Unit is a dedicated group specially tasked with overseeing the 2021 election season. It is a follow-on program from 2020’s highly successful Ballot Fraud Intervention Team.

“The foundation of our constitutional republic is a secure and transparent ballot,” said Attorney General Paxton. “It is why my office remains ever vigilant in defending the integrity of our elections. And it’s why I’m establishing a 2021 Texas Election Integrity Unit to monitor this season’s local elections—which, even though they’re local, must be run in accordance with state law.”

Attorney General Paxton is a national leader in election integrity. Under his leadership, many elections administrators throughout the state have been held accountable for attempts to bend or break the boundaries of lawful practices.

In 2020, for example, the Office of the Attorney General won a dozen critical election-integrity lawsuits, assuring Texans one of the most secure election seasons in the country.

“Further, Attorney General Paxton continues to pursue prosecutions for criminals willing to commit election crimes,” a release from his office stated. “Since taking office in 2015, the Attorney General has resolved 286 prosecutions of Texas Election Code criminal offenses against 76 defendants. Attorney General Paxton is currently prosecuting over 500 felony election fraud offenses in Texas courts.”

Texas Attorney General Condemns Dems for Fleeing

State Attorney General Ken Paxton made the following statement after Texas House Democrats fled the state — rejecting their elected duty during the July 2021 Special Legislative Session:

“This immature behavior by House Democrats is not only childish; it is a disgrace to democracy,” Attorney General Paxton said.

“Their capricious act will not thwart our leadership’s efforts for stronger election integrity, bail reform, retired teacher benefits, and Child Protective Services reform, among other important agenda items. House Democrats have hurt their constituents and demonstrated that when they’re faced with a problem, they run away – literally. It’s shameful and they have failed as elected officials.”

Is Austin, Texas District Attorney at War With Law Enforcement?

Is the liberal new District Attorney in Austin, Texas at war with law enforcement?

Austin police

“His mode of operation is to follow the leads of other paid for DA’s to turn Austin into the stenches San Francisco, Portland and Milwaukee are,” one Austin police officer told CleverJourneys. “We have good, decent people here, but they want out of the city because it’s becoming less safe by the day.”

“I can’t believe what Austin has turned into because of the mayor, city council and liberal leadership,” she said. “Basically, they are forcing good police officers out. Look what Governor Abbott had to do to force some semblance of order last year.”

Similar to George Soros funded DA’s across the nation, Travis County’s Jose Garza seems to be stepping in line to prove he is anti-police and pro-criminal.

Both the Austin Police Association and the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) have joined those citizens who take a strong stance against socialist governing.  One of Garza’s first acts in office was to proclaim he “will hold law enforcement accountable.”

“We’re not making accusations but what we’re asking for is a complete and thorough investigation,” says APA president Ken Casaday, who referred to two specific cases in a press release Thursday. “So you have an ADA (Assistant District Attorney) being told to destroy physical documents and now you have an Austin police officer being told to leave out major portions of their investigation, that’s troubling at best.”

A former assistant district attorney resigned after being ordered to delete emails related to a sexual assault case.

In a separate issue, an Austin police detective was told to leave evidence out of a presentation to a grand jury.

The evidence regarded the case of Garrett Foster, shot fatally by Army Sgt. Daniel Perry while participating in a protest in Austin in July 2020.

“The District Attorney’s office cannot discuss the contents of the grand jury presentation due to grand jury secrecy laws, however, the office disputes the notion that material exculpatory evidence was excluded from the presentation,” the DA’s office claimed.

“Regardless of whether the information was presented exactly how defense counsel or a grand jury witness wanted it to be, the District Attorney’s office presented a thorough and balanced grand jury presentation consistent with its obligations under Texas Law.”

CLEAT, which represents police across the state of Texas, countered with the fact that in March, an order issued by DA Garza notes if his office reviews probable cause documents when a person is arrested for a crime and decides not to prosecute, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office should release that person.

“If Mr. Garza wants to change the law then he needs to be a candidate for the state legislature,” says CLEAT executive director Charley Wilkison, who adds this goes against the Texas penal code. “To decide to turn the justice system on its head and say, we’re just going to release these folks besides not making any common sense, it seems to be something that makes the public less safe.”

“Jose Garza has misused his official position of elected office. Taxpayers are unknowingly funding his whimsical journey of reimagining a Texas with criminals roaming the neighborhoods magically rehabilitating themselves and morphing from home invaders, armed robbers, drug offenders, and mass shooters.” Wilkison said in a CLEAT release on July 7.

Since Garza took over in January, his office has continued former District Attorney Margaret Moore’s socialistic practice of not prosecuting low-level drug possession cases.

Following the Soros playbook, Garza stopped prosecuting criminals for “low-level” crimes. For instance, his office will only “prioritize” violent drug dealers. Police are questioning the DA’s interpretation of what “violent” means.

Any prosecutor seeking a sentence of more than twenty years must first receive permission from Garza or two other top-ranking officials.

“There will absolutely be instances where what is necessary for the safety of our community is a sentence of longer than twenty years, but we think that that is an important decision and that it’s one the community should be able to weigh in on,” Garza said.

Taxpayer dollars shifting from crime fighting to anti-police schemes.

Upon taking office, Garza immediately began a list of bail-reform “suggestions” for judges. The most controversial regarded court attendance which allows those don’t show up to their court cases will no longer be considered a flight risk under his guidelines.

Garza, who says he is committed to holding “law enforcement accountable,” created his “do not call to testify” list. If his office receives evidence that an officer’s actions jeopardize the integrity of any case, they will conduct a review.

Travis County Courthouse

Attorneys Ken Ervin and Doug O’Connell who are representing police officers in some cases, recently explained actions by Garza’s predecessor:

“It is clear to us that the former DA understood criminal indictments were neither warranted nor appropriate in either case, but she did not want to suffer the political consequences of declining prosecution or having a grand jury refuse to issue indictments.”

The two attorneys also urged the DA to present all the evidence from both incidents. Their statement included requesting the DA to record and transcribe the entire grand jury reviews so the judges, defense lawyers, and the public can see how the review was done.

Texas Congressman Introduces Bill to Ban China From Buying and Owning US Land

Texas Republican Representative Chip Roy introduced legislation today that would ban any members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from purchasing public or private real estate in the United States.

According to a press release, the Securing America’s Land from Foreign Interference Act will ensure that the United States’ land is never in control of the CCP.

“In their quest for global domination, China has been buying up land and strategic infrastructure all over the world and in the United States,” Roy, whose 21st District covers the region northwest of San Antonio and southwest of wrote. “Direct Chinese investment in the U.S. economy is a major threat to the American way of life and requires that we take serious action to thwart the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from ever seizing control of strategically valuable domestic assets in the U.S.”

Roy said that the U.S. Department of Agriculture indicates foreign investors currently control almost 30 million acres of farmland in the United States, roughly equal to the size of Ohio or Mississippi.

In Texas, over 3 million acres of land are under foreign control, Chip said. The Lone Star State has the second-highest amount of non-American ownership in the US.

“In Texas, a Chinese based energy company purchased more than 130,000 acres of land near Laughlin Air Force Base and is now attempting to build a wind farm to access the U.S. power grid,” Roy wrote.

There has been a tenfold expansion of Chinese ownership of farmland in the United States in less than a decade.

Six states — Hawaii, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Dakota and Oklahoma — currently ban foreign ownership of farmland.

Massive Chinese investment in American farmland puts the food security of the nation in the hands of a hostile foreign power. But there is also a social cost of allowing foreign buyers who have effectively unlimited resources to compete on the real estate market with smaller domestic buyers.

According to Market Watch, “Chinese buyers accounted for roughly 25 percent of total foreign investment in U.S. residential real estate.” Canada was far behind at a relatively scant 9 percent.

The article indicated Chinese investment in California real estate is a driving force behind high housing prices in the Golden State. Many of these properties are owned as rental properties by absentee landlords.

The U.S. isn’t the only country whose land is being bought up by the Chinese Communist regime.

China is the second largest foreign owner of land in Australia, and a Chinese real estate company recently purchased an Australian island before barring Australian residents from living there.

According to the New York Post, residents have been banned from returning to their homes since the Beijing-backed real estate company China Bloom bought a 99-year lease of Keswick Island in 2019. Residents demanded the Queensland government cancel the Chinese company’s lease and restore local ownership of the island.

“I just don’t think they want Australians on the island,” former island resident Julie Willis told the Australian news program A Current Affair in December. “I think that they want to have this island solely for the use of the Chinese tourism market.”

A huge problem is that corporate directors of mainstream media firms have close financial ties to China that are little known to the American public. This creates a financial incentive to white wash the actions of the People’s Republic of China, both domestically and abroad.

Recall the way that the media bristled at calling COVID-19 “the China Virus” or “Wuhan Coronavirus.” There is a reason for this beyond simple political correctness. Many in the upper echelons of the corporate media have a vested interest in protecting the reputation of the People’s Republic of China.

Congressman Roy was joined by Reps. Lance Gooden, Ken Buck, and Randy Weber in introducing this legislation.

Texas Office of Attorney General Files Against Political Appointees

AUSTIN – Yesterday the Office of the Attorney General of Texas (OAG) filed an appellate brief with the Austin-based 3rd Court of Appeals fully debunking a group of former OAG political appointees who had gone rogue and lodged unfounded accusations against Attorney General Paxton.

The appeal arises out of a Travis County District Court’s erroneous denial of OAG’s plea to the jurisdiction. OAG’s appellate brief argues that the group of former appointees have no right under Texas law to force their way back into the Agency after failing in the basic duties and responsibilities of their jobs.

Most importantly, the brief reveals a total contradiction between what the rogue appointees have alleged in public and what they’ve said under oath. Notably, Jeff Mateer—Attorney General Paxton’s former number-two executive—swore under oath that Paxton committed no actual crimes. Rather, Mateer only “had potential concerns,” adding without elaboration or specificity that there might be issues if they had gone down a certain “path.”

But bare allegations of hypothetical future problems aren’t enough to blow the proverbial whistle. When asked whether Mateer “c[a]me to believe that the Office of Attorney General was being engaged in ongoing criminal activity,” Mateer was unable “to give a yes or no. . . . What [he] would say is it—it could have led to that.”

However, speculation about or unfounded fears over what might happen—especially when any doubts could have been alleviated by asking a few questions—isn’t enough under Texas law, and certainly isn’t enough to justify what these former aides did.

“As I said when this unfortunate drama first broke, the seven political appointees who launched an unsubstantiated smear campaign against me were rogue,” said Attorney General Paxton. “They disagreed with me on certain matters, which, of course, is fine. Indeed, I always encourage robust debate and discussion among my senior staff. But rather than asking clarifying questions seeking to understand my decision-making, they sought to depose me, cooking up false allegations and trying to attack me in the court of public opinion. They have failed in the their desperate bid. They’ll lose in court too, and my Office will take these claims as far as necessary to ensure Texas law is upheld.”

Texas Attorney General Sues Austin Labor Trafficker

Texas Attorney General News Release

Attorney General Ken Paxton today sued Austin Eco Bilingual School, a Spanish immersion preschool, accusing founder Adriana Rodriguez of labor trafficking.

Rodriguez has been under investigation for human trafficking for a while.

The victims found themselves in a dangerously mismanaged daycare that showed total disregard for immigration, labor, and child licensing laws. The foreign-born employees were lured to Texas with promises of lawful status, a decent salary and a rewarding career, but were instead victimized by an unscrupulous employer who trafficked them for their labor.

“Labor trafficking, like all human trafficking, is a manipulative and despicable form of evil. I will not stand by while traffickers use the promise and prosperity of Texas to recruit and exploit victims,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Ending human trafficking in Texas is one of my top priorities, and no trafficker will be allowed to operate schools and victimize the people who teach and care for our youngest, most vulnerable members of society.”

Rodriguez, who was once named the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Businesswoman of the Year, sabotaged and controlled her employees’ ability to work legally in the U.S.

Rodriguez’ school.

She threatened to have them deported, arrested, or separated from their children if they did not continue to work – often for far less pay than promised or no pay at all. Rodriguez kept her victims quiet and under control, which sometimes included forcing them to hide in closets or flee when childcare licensing inspectors arrived.

She also constantly kept her employees from complaining by highlighting her connections to high-ranking law enforcement and other government officials. One former employee quoted Rodriguez as saying, “I am a very important person, and I can destroy you whenever I choose.”
