America Today: Red, Yellow, Black, White

Current Events in Living Color

Ever heard this children’s song, “Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in his sight”?

Now, of course that while most of us realize children are all precious in God’s sight, there are no “red and yellow” or “black and white” people.

We all have different amounts of the same brown skin pigment called melanin. How much we have is largely determined by our genetics. Some people have genes to make a small amount of melanin, so they are light brown. Others produce a lot and are very dark brown. But we’re all brown—just different shades of it.

The colors used in Native American culture often held deep symbolic meaning and convey significant information about the culture. The main four colors used by Native Americans today continue to include red, yellow, black, and white.

These colors represent important connections to nature, the cycles of life, and cardinal directions.

Although America is seeing a strong comeback of citizens returning to church (especially after so many citizens were forced and scared to go out during the Biden-Fauci COVID Pandemic era), there remains some opposition. Here are recent samples in Red, Yellow, Black and White:
