A conversation I listened to recently involved the creation of earth and a claim that our home planet was flat “like a pancake.”

Regularly, I field requests from readers wanting me to debunk “conspiracy theories,” “fake news,” or “government psyops.”

Those types of investigations are typically time consuming but on occasion, I’ll spend days (interviewing subjects of news reports), weeks (election fraud in specific jurisdictions) and even years (JFK Assassination) researching.

In this situation, my instinct was to check NASA files, but decided to go with a much more reliable source instead: the Bible–the Word of God.

Let’s look at what the Bible actually says about Earth’s creation and description.

CREATION

Genesis 1:2

Now the earth was formless and desolate, and there was darkness upon the surface of the watery deep, and God’s active force was moving about over the surface of the waters. – NWT.

DESCRIPTION

Isaiah 40: 21- 23

Do YOU people not know? Do YOU not hear? Has it not been told to YOU from the outset? Have YOU not applied understanding from the foundations of the earth? 22 There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth, the dwellers in which are as grasshoppers, the One who is stretching out the heavens just as a fine gauze, who spreads them out like a tent in which to dwell, 23 the One who is reducing high officials to nothing, who has made the very judges of the earth as a mere unreality.

Job 26:7- 10

He is stretching out the north over the empty place, Hanging the earth upon nothing; 8 Wrapping up the waters in his clouds, so that the cloud mass is not split under them; 9 Enclosing the face of the throne, spreading out over it his cloud. 10 He has described a circle upon the face of the waters, to where light ends in darkness.

Proverbs 8:27

When He prepared the heavens I was there; when He decreed a circle upon the face of the watery deep.

Ecclesiastes 1:6

The wind goes off to the south and round to the north, goes clear round, and the wind goes to going round again.
