With no further ado, here is Part 1 of various couples from Hollywood, News, Television and Sports. We begin with Entertainment featuring Jeff Bridges and Susan Geston, followed by Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden; Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo.

12 Interesting Facts About Marriage and Divorce in America

What percentage of marriages end in divorce?

Based on the findings of law firms, it takes up a fairly high percentage. And the figure progressively grows in succeeding marriages.

In 2008, the marriage rate was 17.9 per 1,000 women; a decade later the figure was 16.6 per 1,000 women. The decrease in divorce rates was even greater. It went from 10.5 per 1,000 women in 2008 to 7.7 per 1,000 women in 2018.

This raises the importance of marriage counseling and good communication between couples. But a fairly recent trend suggests that the divorce rate is on a downslope, and so are marriage rates. As such, couples are being more mindful of the responsibilities of marriage before upgrading their relationships. And in the same way, married couples are finding ways to make their relationships work for the long haul.

Couples decide to divorce for different reasons, but there are a few common ones. Some of the main reasons couples decide to divorce include lack of commitment, infidelity, arguing too much, and growing apart, according to the Institute of Family Studies.

🔹An estimated 41% of first marriages end in divorce. (Wilkinson & Finkbeiner, 2020)

🔹That number goes up to 60% for second marriages and 73% for third marriages. (Wilkinson & Finkbeiner, 2020)

🔹In 2019, the divorce rate in the United States hit its lowest point in 50 years. (Wang, 2020)

🔹However, the marriage rate also reached its 50-year low in that same year. (Wang, 2020)

🔹Meanwhile, the average total cost of a divorce is $12,900 and the median cost is $7,500. (Michon, 2021).

🔹An uncontested divorce costs an average of $4,100). (Bieber, 2020)

🔹This figure increases to $23,300 if there are two issues, like child support and child custody, contested. (Bieber, 2020)

🔹It normally takes one year to complete a divorce. (Michon, 2021)

🔹The average attorney’s fee for divorces is $11,300. (Bieber, 2020)

🔹The average hourly rate of divorce lawyers is $270. (Michon, 2021)

🔹Conveyor and winch operators have the highest divorce rate among all jobs at 22%. (Morris, 2021)

🔹Meanwhile, physicians have the lowest rate of divorce at 2%. (Morris, 2021)

MAGA Caps Making Early Comeback With Great Messages For America

Once upon a time, when gas was less than $2 a gallon, we had border protection and some fake experimental ‘vaccinations’ weren’t killing our population, America was turning great.

Then the 2020 election was criminally stolen, with much evidence, from true voting citizens.

We soon learned Mike Pence was a traitor, Joe Biden a puppet, news was still fake and Anthony Fauci is a lunatic. The “Make America Great Again” slogan was replaced with “F___ Joe Biden,” “FJB,” and “”Let’s Go Brandon” chants throughout the nation.

As citizens learn more about the massive corruption of New World Order, World Economic Forum, Biden Regime, CDC, DOJ, CIA, FBI, IRS, EPA, RINOS, and other Deep State LMNOPS, there are solid signs of American determination and patriotism kicking in.

Fake News continues to lose their audiences. Trump backed candidates are winning primaries, and patriot caps are making a comeback!

Which are your favorites?

Where Did ‘He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother’ Come From?

During World War II (1945), a Japanese boy stood in front of a funeral pyre and waited his turn to cremate his little dead brother.

The person who took the photograph said, in an interview, that the boy was biting his lips so hard to keep from crying that blood was dripping from the corner of his mouth.

It was then that the guard asked him for the body and said, “Give me the load you are carrying on your back.” And the boy answered:

“He ain’t heavy, he is my brother”. He handed over the body, turned around, and left…

In Japan, even today, this image is used as a symbol of strength.

In college during the mid 1970s, I had the opportunity to meet and interview some music entertainers of the times. As the Fine Arts Editor for the Southwest Texas State (now Texas State) University Star, it helped me go backstage for artists like Freddy Mercury and Queen, Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Alvin Lee with Ten Years After, and more.

One of my classmates was a young fellow who would sit out in the hall before a business class trying to catch up because he had been out singing late into the night before. You may have heard of him–George Strait.

A special moment was meeting Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina backstage before their San Antonio Municipal Auditorium (now the expanded Tobin Center) concert. I secured autographs, asked a few questions and was allowed to watch their sound check.

From the side of the stage they sat on stools, side-by-side, singing to an empty auditorium that would soon be filled to the brim.

The song was “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother.” I had heard the recordings by The Hollies and Neil Diamond, but this one time “personal” performance remains in my heart and memories to this day.

It was written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. They only met three times to collaborate before Russell died of lymphoma.

A guy name Reginald played piano on The Hollies’ version which was released in 1970. It was a worldwide hit. You likely know the piano player by another name–Elton John.

The title actually didn’t come from the Japanese picture shown above. It came from the motto for Boys Town, a community formed in 1917 by a Catholic priest named Father Edward Flanagan.

Located in Omaha, Nebraska, it was a place where troubled or homeless boys could come for help. In 1941, Father Flanagan was looking at a magazine called The Messenger when he came across a drawing of a boy carrying a younger boy on his back, with the caption, “He ain’t heavy Mr., he’s my brother.”

Today, there is a statue with that phrase that serves as the symbol for Boys Town.

In 1938, actor Spencer Tracey portrayed Father Flanagan in the movie Boys Town, which also starred Mickey Rooney. In 1941, they made a sequel called Men Of Boys Town, where they used the phrase “He ain’t heavy, Father, he’s my brother” for the first time in a movie.

Are These the BTK Killer’s Most Haunting Words?

On the afternoon of January 15, 1974, 15-year-old Charlie Otero and two of his siblings arrived back to their Wichita, Kansas home from school to find a horrifying scene.

Their parents, 38-year-old Joseph and 33-year-old Julie, and their two youngest siblings, 9-year-old Joseph Jr. and 11-year-old Josephine, had been brutally murdered.

Four years later, out of the blue, a letter was sent to Wichita’s KAKE news station, in which the writer claimed responsibility not only for the Otero family murders but also for the 1974 murder of Kathryn Bright, the 1977 murder of Shirley Vian, and the 1977 murder of Nancy Fox.

In the letter, the murderer also suggested a nickname for himself: “BTK,” standing for “bind, torture, kill.”

The BTK killer went on to murder Mariane Hedge in 1985, Vicki Wegerle in 1986, and Dolores Davis in 1991. During this murderous spree, he maintained correspondence with the media and the police, taunting them.

Suddenly, the BTK murders appeared to cease. All the related murder cases remained cold.

It wasn’t until March 2004 that BTK began communicating with the media and police again. BTK’s letter to The Wichita Eagle claimed he had murdered a woman named Vicki Wegerle back in 1986. He proved it by providing photos of the crime scene and a copy of her driver’s license as proof.

Police continued to be taunted with BTK providing horrifying photos, crime scenes evidence, and bizarre letters. In one particular letter, the killer wrote some of the most haunting words ever from any human being:

“I never knew when this monster entered my brain. But what I do know is that it is here to stay…Society can be thankful that there are ways in which people like me can relieve myself, whether in dreams or with imagining that some victim is tortured and mine It is a big complicated game that my friend the monster plays to write down the number of victims, follow them, watch them waiting in the dark, waiting, waiting… Maybe you can stop it. I, I can’t because he has already chosen his next victim.”

On February 16, 2005, the BTK killer sent police a purple floppy disk filled with instructions for further communications.

Within the metadata of that disk, police were able to find two key clues: the words “Christ Lutheran Church” and the name “Dennis.”

A quick internet search led them to Dennis from the church. A search warrant allowed them to compare DNA from the suspect’s daughter’s recent pap smear to the DNA they had on file. It was a match.

By early afternoon on February 25, 2005, the BTK killer was identified as Dennis Rader. He was arrested.

On June 27, 2005, the day that his trial was scheduled to begin, Rader pleaded guilty to all 10 charges of murder filed against him. During his confession, with minimal emotion, he described each of the murders in detail,. There was no remorse or apologies.

The following month, his wife, Paula. was granted an “emergency divorce” from him.

Years later, Rader revealed his list of what “projects,” 55 individuals he had targeted and wanted to kill. He didn’t get to kill all of them, but likened himself to “a fisherman who goes out, and sometimes you catch and sometimes you don’t.”

As of this writing Dennis Rader, now 78, remains in solitary confinement at the El Dorado Correctional Facility in Butler County, Kansas.

Foods That Have More Sodium Than a Bag of Potato Chips

Guilty was the verdict and Jack confessed.

He snacked on a small bag of delicious H-E-B brand potato chips Monday evening after such a healthy day of eating.

So how much sodium is in the average small bag of chips? In his bag, H-E-B noted 170 mg (with 150 calories). We looked at the sodium content in a small bag of chips of three leading brands: Lay’s (170mg), Ruffles (160mg), and Kettle Brand (210mg).

By taking the average of these three, we estimate that the average small bag of chips has about 178mg of salt. Here’s how other popular foods compare:

🔹One serving of Bumble Bee White Crabmeat has 260mg of sodium.

Buy the Solid White Albacore Tuna In Water with more protein and 140mg of sodium.

🔹Canned, packaged, and restaurant-prepared soups often pack a lot of sodium, though you can find reduced-sodium options for some canned varieties.

On average, canned soup has 700 mg of sodium, or 30% of the Recommend Daily Intake, per 1-cup (245-gram) serving.

Here’s a tip to save costs and reduce sodium intake: Just add rice and water to any can of soup to double or triple it for almost free. Note: This same hack can be used on other high sodium consumables like tomato sauces, chili, etc.

🔹Making a sandwich? Two slices of Oroweat’s Whole Wheat bread contains 270mg of sodium. Instead, try an Oroweat Whole Wheat Sandwich Thin Roll with just 170mg.

🔹Ham is full of salt. A 3-ounce (85-gram) serving of roasted ham averages 1,117 mg of sodium, or 48% of the RDI.

🔹One Serving of Grape-Nuts Original Cereal has 270mg of sodium so opt for Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds with 135mg instead.

🔹Instant Pudding. A 25-gram portion of instant vanilla pudding mix — used to make a 1/2-cup serving — has 350 mg of sodium, or 15% of the RDI.

🔹Jerky. A 1-ounce (28-gram) serving of beef jerky packs 620 mg of sodium, or 27% of the RDI.

🔹A serving size of V8 Original Vegetable Juice contains a whopping 640mg of sodium but the V8’s Purple Power Veggie Blend contains just 100mg instead. Some brands offer low-sodium versions, which means they can have no more than 140 mg of sodium per serving according to FDA rules.

🔹One Serving of Organic Valley’s Cottage Cheese contains 450mg of sodium so replace it with a Grassmilk Plain Yogurt which contains 120mg per serving. Note that one study found that rinsing cottage cheese under running water for 3 minutes, then draining it, reduces sodium content by 63%.

🔹Pizza. Yikes!A large, 140-gram slice of store-bought, frozen pizza averages 765 mg of sodium, or 33% of the RDI. A restaurant-prepared slice of the same size packs even more — averaging 957 mg of sodium, or 41% of the RDI.

Jack and I agree that since going as salt free as possible, we’ve noticed the original tastes of vegetables, fruits and other food are far more naturally flavorful.

SALT FACTS

🔹Salt is an essential part of a healthy diet. It helps our nerves and muscles function properly and help us control blood pressure and volume. But too much may lead to hypertension, a leading cause of heart disease and stroke. The FDA recommends no more than 2,300 mg of sodium per day, but Jack aims for under 1,000 at home.

🔹The Reference Daily Intake (RDI) for sodium of 2,300 mg — is about 1 teaspoon of salt.

🔹Table salt, known chemically as sodium chloride, is made up of 40% sodium.

🔹It’s estimated that at least half of people with hypertension have blood pressure that’s affected by sodium consumption — meaning they’re salt sensitive. In addition, your risk for salt sensitivity increases with age.

🔹The average daily sodium intake in the United States is 3,400 mg — much higher than the recommended upper limit.

This mainly comes from packaged and restaurant foods, rather than from overusing your salt shaker.
