State Dept. Releases Report on Obama’s Ties to Cuba & Underground Terrorism Group

The US State Department just released a report, “Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism,” highlighing Barack Obama’s ties to Cuba-linked radicals.

In 2014, then President Obama and state representative Karen Bass (one considered by Joe Biden to be his vice presidential running mate and now the disastrous mayor of Los Angeles) began issuing curious statements through their favorite mainstream media voices about the virtues of Cuba.

By 2016, Obama and Bass (who was also once part of the anti-American “Venceremos Brigade“) flew to Cuba to meet the late Fidel Castro’s brother, then
Cuban president Raul Castro, who called for the removal of the U.S. trade embargo.

CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC and even the New York Times stumbled over themselves to echo Obama was “the first U.S. president to visit the island in nearly 90 years.”

Castro suggested Cuba and the U.S. could make more progress on their shared agenda if the embargo were lifted. Obama had already lifted various travel, financial restrictions and even opened embassies since he announced the thawing of relations with Cuba in December 2014.

Congressional leaders, many who were aware of what was going on behind the scenes, refused the calls to lift the embargo.

Now Secretary of State, Marco Rubio and other prominent leaders who opposed Obama’s motives, were not so quiet. They understood his concessions to the Castro regime were indeed counterproductive to the fight for Cuban citizens freedom.

Jorge Luis Garcia Perez (AKA “Antunez,”) had spent 17 years in Castro’s gulags, and affirmed that “a vital segment of the Cuban Resistance” view the Obama administration’s policy of appeasement “as a betrayal of the aspiration to freedom of the Cuban people.”

Opponents of the new policy indicated Obama’s approach only benefitted Castro without requiring him to improve human rights conditions and political freedoms.

During Obama’s and Bass’s visit it was obvious that Cuba not having a free press, made Castro uncomfortable taking questions from American reporters – a rare practice in the communist country.

He bristled at Obama’s stooge CNN reporter, Jim Acosta (Cuban-American), of the suggestion that his government holds political prisoners.

Key Background Highlights

In the 1960s-70s, Cuba’s Venceremos Brigade recruited American leftists, including Weather Underground. This was a radical revolutionary group that sought to overthrow the United States government which they viewed as American imperialism.

• The Weather Underground was co-founded by Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers.
These radicals visited Havana, met Cuban officials, and pushed violence against the U.S. (bombings, etc.).

• In 1995, when Barack Obama launched his first run for office it was in the living room of Dohrn and Ayers.

• Later, Rep. Karen Bass (a Brigade alum who visited Cuba repeatedly) traveled to Cuba with them President Obama in 2016 as part of his normalization push.

• The report also notes the 2014 release of convicted Cuban spy Gerardo Hernández (“Cuban Five”) under Obama’s diplomatic opening.

• The report details decades of Cuban espionage, subversion, and ideological influence ops targeting the U.S. liberal left.

• The documents expose how Cuba acts as a forward operating base and “concierge” for America’s enemies and adversaries.

• China and Russia have tripled intelligence personnel on the island (SIGINT facilities for spying on the U.S.).

• Cuba hosts Russian facilities, partners with China on surveillance, and serves as a vector for Iran and others to project influence into Latin America and U.S. networks.
