A Midwestern school allegedly vaccinated a child without parental consent after the family filed a religious exemption.
HHS just opened a federal investigation.
Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. said providers cannot ignore parents. If consent is violated HHS will act.
HHS also reminded every provider that parents have a legal right to see all of their childrenās medical information. That is federal law.
Hospitals and clinics now face compliance reviews to ensure parents get full access to their childrenās records.
And HRSA funded health centers must follow all parental consent laws for every service given to minors.
Parents are finally being put back at the center of childrenās health decisions.
