The infamous Sixth Street in downtown Austin, Texas is no longer the fun, safe place to party as it once was.

The far left city council, coupled with a George Soros paid for District Attorney, who do more to stifle their police department than it does to support them, is at it again.
Last Saturday night another shooting incident on Sixth Street left one man dead and several others wounded, according to local law enforcement.
Officials from the Austin Police Department (APD) stated that the shooting incident unfolded on East 6th Street late Saturday night when an armed man attempted to enter a bar.
Upon recognizing the armed man, a bar employee alerted APD officers who approached the suspect.
Witnesses indicate the man brandished his firearm, aiming it at officers and others nearby. In response, three officers opened fire hitting the gunman multiple times, leading to his death at the scene.

In the midst of the shooting, three other individuals sustained injuries. At this time, the specifics surrounding their involvement in the incident and how they were injured remain unclear.
One of the individuals who was injured by the gunfire is now in critical condition, while the others sustained non-life-threatening injuries, as per APD.
The involved officers, all with at least nine years of service with the department, are currently on administrative duty pending the investigation into the incident.
APD Interim Chief, Robin Henderson, affirms bodycam footage will be made public within ten business days.

The APD’s Special Investigations Unit and the Travis County District Attorney’s Office will initiate a criminal probe into the shooting, while an administrative investigation will be conducted by APD’s Internal Affairs Unit, together with the Office of Police Oversight.
Authorities are urging anyone with more information concerning the shooting to reach out to APD’s Special Investigation Unit or Capitol Area Crime Stoppers.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 12, 2021,shots were fired into a large crowd on Sixth Street, killing one visitor from New York and sending several partiers to the hospital. In total, 15 individuals were shot.

When my son was attending Texas State, he and his frat brothers would go there. He noticed a change back in the early 2000s. I never cared for the place myself. If anywhere to go in Austin back then, it would be Gurreros on South Congress. Austin is getting a huge dose of bad Karma, but they have it coming. I have a few semi writer friends that live there, but then they are so far left they are disabled.

Same here, Phil. Last time I was there was 2008. Didn’t feel safe at all.
I graduated from Texas State, managing editor of the University Star. I still have close friends who migrated up to LA LA Land of Austin. Some are still writers. Unfortunately there one or two that think I’m the devil because of my patriotic Texas values, but they are closer to being the Devil with their blue dress mess on. Dodie wanted to see it (40 years since she was last there) so in 2020 we spent one night. It’s a bubble of self righteous libs. Never again. I will go out of my way to avoid Austin. It’s as nasty and filthy as San Francisco, Louisville, LA, and downtown St. Louis.

My son and his family were in Austin a few months back for a wedding held downtown. They didn’t feel safe at all. He said it’s changed for the worst. My writer sort of ex friend thinks I’m Devil also. I made fun of Willie smoking pot for 70 years and I thought he was going to come up here and shoot me. I know Willie personally, he will be the first to admit his brain is partially fried. Austin is a SH, and I can’t believe my wife extended my subscription to Texas Monthly for another year. Geez.

I’m sort of ashamed I had article published by them (back in the day Kinky Friedman own owned the last page), but at the time, it was a personal big deal. BTW…We live about 7 miles from the Kingster.

Love me some Kinky and the Jew Boys. I saw them at Gruen Hall back in the 80s. I follow him on Facethang, he’s still smoking those big cigars and Little Jewford is still wrangling. I’ve been reading Texas Monthly since it’s inception. I did drop off some in the 90s, and when I came back, it was a liberal rag. All of the good writers had gone elswhere, published books and so on. The mag thinks that Austin is the center of the universe and the heart of Texas. Got news for them kids, it ain’t any of that. Good that got published though, that’s a nice thing that gives you some bragging rights.
