On November 11, 1995, Nancy Pelosi and fellow Democrat Ron Dellums were the keynote speakers at a public hearing on jobs and economic insecurities in San Francisco.
The event was cosponsored by the San Francisco Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Full Employment Coalition.
In 2004 and 2006, Pelosi was a guest speaker at the annual “Take Back America” conferences sponsored by George Soros’ Campaign For Americas Future and Institute For Policy Studies.
On February 8, 2007, Pelosi appointed Joseph Onek, a senior policy analyst for George Soros, to be her senior counsel.
In 2016, Pelosi began grooming Kamala Harris for Soros to use in the future. Both women began giving speeches at Soros’ conferences and fundraising events. Soros’ son Alex, selected Harris to be the Vice President running mate for Joe Biden.
This article is the second in our CleverJourneys ongoing series exploring American history from a perspective that burrows deep into criminal profiles, the penal system, victim’s stories, crime prevention, forensic science, law enforcement and our justice system.
Preface: My father, Walter Dennis, was a police officer and homicide detective for the San Antonio Police Department from the late 1950s through the mid-1970s. Later he was a U.S. Marshal and worked on the assassination of federal Judge John Woods.
Dad would often take me to the locations of some of his cases. He’d explain what happened, pointing me to the clues, structures and surroundings of the crime scenes.
It’s no wonder I later became the youngest licensed private investigator in Texas in 1976, and worked on many crime cases.
The Zodiac Killer
Growing up in the 1960s, our childhoods were often troubled by the nightly news of the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King.
Nightly news was filled with horrible combat news–especially about our fathers, uncles, brothers, cousins and loved ones serving–of war in Vietnam.
However, the stories that kept us up at night and alert of our surroundings during daylight, were the serial killers. The Boston Strangled, Charles Manson Murders, and Richard Speck. Later we would hear about Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Henry Lee Lucas and Jeffrey Dahmer.
One in particular, for many of us, began with mysterious words scrawled in a letter written to the San Francisco Examiner in 1969. It simply read:
“Dear Editor: This is the Zodiac speaking.”
The letter described in detail the murders of two teenagers at Lake Herman. This was the start of a harrowing investigation into a rash of murders from 1968 to 1969 that continued to span decades.
Even though there were letters containing confessions, witness statements, and sketches of the killer, police never found the Zodiac.
We soon learned that the Zodiac Killer was directly linked to at least five murders in a single year.
He taunted law enforcement through letters sent to Bay Area newspapers. Each letter contained a circle symbol with a cross and one part of a three-part cipher that allegedly contained his identity.
Most recently, in October 2021, after a half century has passed, a group of investigators may have answered the impossible question: Who was the Zodiac killer?
Police officials attributed four definitive Zodiac killings.
🔹On December 20th, 1968, David Faraday & Betty Lou Jensen were shot and killed in their car. There were no motives that could be determined, and the police could not nail down a suspect.
🔹On July 5th, 1969, Darlene Ferrin and her boyfriend, Mike Mageau, were sitting in their car in a remote area on the outskirts of Vallejo, California. A stranger approached them with a flashlight before firing multiple shots into the vehicle. Ferrin died as a result of her wounds, while Mageau survived the attack. A phone call to the police within an hour of the incident claimed responsibility for both crimes.
🔹On September 27th, 1969, the Zodiac killer approached a young couple on a beach on the shore of Lake Berryessa in Napa County. He wore a hood with his circle & cross symbol and tied them up, brutally stabbing them.
Before leaving the scene, he scribbled a message to the police in the car door. Once again, the female victim, Cecelia Shepard, died of her wounds while the male victim, Bryan Hartnell, survived.
🔹On October 11th, 1969, the Zodiac killer shot a twenty-nine-year-old taxi driver, Paul Stine. Even though this crime didn’t fit the pattern of the Zodiac, eyewitnesses gave a description that matched Mageau’s early description of the killer, and the San Francisco Chronicle received a letter claiming responsibility for the crime. Even with the accounts, the police couldn’t answer who the Zodiac killer was.
The Zodiac letters
On August 1st, 1969, the San Francisco Examiner, San Francisco Chronicle, and Vallejo Times-Herald received an identical handwritten letter with no return address. The writer indicated he was the killer in the Faraday-Jensen murders the previous Christmas. He also threatened further murders if his letters were not published on the front page of the papers.
When the FBI and area police were working feverishly to track down the killer, the San Francisco Examiner received a letter that first referred to the murderer by his new name, saying those chilling words, “Dear Editor: This is the Zodiac speaking.”
Several days later, high school teacher Donald Harden and his wife, Bettye, solved the cipher. “I like killing people because it is so much fun,” it read. “It is more fun than killing wild game in the forest because man is the most dangerous animal of all.”
Three days after the Stine murder, the San Francisco Chronicle received another letter detailing the killing, along with a scrap of Stine’s shirt. The Zodiac threatened to shoot out the tires of a bus and “pick off the little kiddies as they come bouncing out.”
Enter The Case Breakers
The Zodiac letters ceased being sent in 1974. Theories were revealed in the press that perhaps the murdered was now in jail for a different crime or that he had died.
In any event, the case eventually appeared destined to remain a cold case forever. We would never know who the Zodiac killer was.
Enter The Case Breakers, a team of more than forty former law enforcement officers, journalists, and military intelligence officers who have tackled such cases as D.B. Cooper and Jimmy Hoffa. They believe they have answered the decades-old question: Who was the Zodiac killer?
They identified Gary Francis Poste, who died in 2018, as the man behind the circle and cross. Using new forensic evidence linking to him and a telling scar on his forehead that matches the infamous police sketch, the team believes that Poste committed the Zodiac killings and a previously unrelated killing in 1966 near Riverside, CA, hundreds of miles away.
Poste’s full name has also been used to decipher the letters, identifying him as the Zodiac.
One member of the Case Breakers and former army intelligence agent Jen Bucholtz says, “So you have to know Gary’s full name in order to decipher these anagrams. I just don’t think there’s any other way anybody would have figured it out.”
For the past decade, New York billionaire George Soros funded campaigns of leftist District Attorney challengers across the United States. Many were elected. Now Americans are paying dearly–many with their lives.
In the 2018 elections of California, Soros spent $3,625,000 on DA races in Sacramento, San Diego, Alameda, Marin and Contra Costa counties.
By 2020, Soros funded more than $2.5 million of George Gascón’s race for Los Angeles District Attorney.
“The infusion of dark money in these races, usually in the final months before a primary or general election, makes a huge impact,” Michele Hanisee, President of the Association of Los Angeles Deputy District Attorneys, wrote. “District attorney elections are typically minimally funded, local races. The last-minute spending by these PACs leaves opposing candidates with scant time to raise a corresponding amount of cash to respond.”
The District Attorney of Los Angeles since 2012, Jackie Lacey lost in the last election to Gascón, who left the San Francisco District Attorney’s office and moved to Los Angeles to beat Lacey.
By March 2021, he faced a recall. To get the recall on the ballot, there must be 579,062 signatures from registered voters in the county by October 27, 2021.
The notice of intent is due to Gascón abandoning crime victims and their families, disregarding the rule of law, weakening sentencing requirements for violent crimes, and reducing sentences on hate, gun, and gang crimes.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, former Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley, former Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, and former Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine announced their support of the recall. As of June 3, 2021, 17 cities in Los Angeles County had passed votes of no confidence in Gascón.
Gascón told KTLA 5 this month that “the reality is crime has been going up, in fact, in L.A. County we had a 25% increase in violent crime over the last seven years because we continue to do the same things over and over again, expecting different results.”
“What I am doing is, I am revamping the way that we address violence by using science, using data, taking a public health lens approach with the way that we deal with crime,” he offered as an excuse.
Gascon vigorously plays by socialist Soros’ playbook of portraying police as agents of a racist law enforcement system that imprisons more blacks and minorities, and targets them for police harassment and abuse.
Another Soros funded achievement, Black Lives Matter (BLM), has seen success through their division and destruction, thanks to dark money support and mainstream media propaganda.
BLM supported Gascón, “over the first Black district attorney in the nation’s most populous county, for failing to prosecute police officers who kill civilians,” NBC News reported.
“We’ve tried everything with her (Lacey),” said Melina Abdullah, BLM co-founder of Black Lives Matter-L.A. “We had a deep desire to have things be different.”
Daniel Greenfield, an investigative journalist is spot on with his observations.
“The media repeatedly described Abdullah as an activist against police violence while ignoring her affinity for a racist black supremacist hate group whose leader has described Jews as satanic and subhuman,” Greenfield said. “The level of duplicity and malpractice by the media which covered this up is its own hate crime.”
The California Globe called Gascón “the architect of Proposition 47 which largely decriminalized theft and drug crimes by reducing those crimes and a number of other ‘non-violent’ felonies to misdemeanors.”
He also developed “Prop. 57, which allows early release for ‘non-violent offenders,’ including rape by intoxication of an unconscious person, human trafficking involving a sex act with minors, arson causing great bodily harm, drive-by shooting, assault with a deadly weapon, and hostage taking. These are so-called criminal justice reforms according to Gascón.”
Gascón was endorsed by Gov. Gavin Newsom. Both politicians are currently facing serious recalls.
Newsom originally appointed Gascón San Francisco District Attorney, even with no prosecutorial experience. Kamala Harris also endorsed Gascón.
Of the “criminal justice reforms” supported by the Soros owned DAs, ending cash bail in California is a big priority. Their strategy–as evidenced by the destructive BLM and Antifa protests of 2020– is to release violent offenders to the streets, and destroy the $2-billion national industry. There are 3,200 bail agents in California alone.
Destroy jobs. Promote violence. Introduce more criminals into society. This reminds many Americans of the Biden-Harris strategy, doesn’t it?
Gascón has long advocated for the end of monetary bail.
Courthouse News reported that “in 2018, then-San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón asked the California Supreme Court to review a landmark lower-court ruling prohibiting authorities from holding criminal defendants in jail solely because they can’t afford to pay bail to get out.”
Communistic Socialism Increased During Obama Years
President Donald J. Trump Was Right
Countering the “official” 2020 election results, a new survey reveals the America First policy is preferred over the Biden immigration policy.
Sixty-three percent (63%) of U.S. adults believe that immigration policy should prioritize the interests of the U.S. and its current citizens. A Cato Institute survey found that only 37% take the opposite view and believe the policy should do whatever benefits the most people regardless of nationality.
Most Republicans (85%) and independents (61%) say U.S. interests should come first. Most hardline liberal Democrats (54%) take the opposite view.
The survey found that “only 33% of the public favors removing all restrictions on immigration after the pandemic is over.”
Seventy-two percent (72%) of strong liberals favor open borders as do 54% of moderate liberals. However, 82% of conservatives oppose open borders.
The Cato report adds that 86% oppose the immigration system giving priority to those with family living in the U.S.: 58% say high-skilled workers and those with U.S. relatives should be given equal preference, and 28% prioritize high-skilled workers first.
Mainstream Media, their polling partners and U.S. education indoctrination efforts began accelerating their information propaganda at the turn of the century.
Based on Political Action Committees (PACs) and heavy lobbying from New World Order (NWO) and other anti-American socialism causes, Deep State operatives in FBI, CIA, DOJ and other government departments run their organizations with this acceleration in mind.
“Changes in Democrats’ views largely account for this shift,” reported CATO. “Today, nearly half (47%) of Democrats support increasing immigration to the U.S., compared to 21% of independents and 11% of Republicans.”
“In contrast, in 2001 Gallup found only 17% of Democrats, 16% of independents, and 7% of Republicans wanted to increase immigration. Thus, about 20 years ago partisans had more similar attitudes. Views diverged starting around 2010 (after Obama was elected) when Democratic support began to accelerate.”
The husband of Joe Biden’s running mate is a well connected attorney at a law firm that consults for several companies owned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and that employs former CCP officials.
But That’s the Tip of the Iceberg
When Obama FBI Director James Comey investigated the Clinton email scandal and the Clinton Foundation, he recommended no prosecution by the Department of Justice.
Harris’ spouse is also a primary partner of the law firm that audited the Clinton Foundation. One of the executives of the firm in charge of the audit was Peter Comey–the brother of James Comey.
His firm, DLA Piper, not only filed Clinton Foundation taxes each year, James Comey held the mortgage for his brother’s mansion. This ties a direct financial connection between Comey and the Clinton Foundation while he was investigating Hillary.
Meanwhile, the plot thickens. This same firm boasts of its years of ties and dealings in China, as well as its team of 140 lawyers who make up a “China Investment Services” branch.
This is particularly concerning because Biden and his son Hunter have troubling links to China. While serving as Barack Obama’s VP, Biden launched a war on American coal, as Hunter became a millionaire on Chinese coal and energy.
Hunter Biden has basically remained in hiding after it was discovered he earned $80,000 a month while working at a shady Ukrainian firm that his father helped keep from being investigated.
Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff married in March 2014 at a courthouse ceremony officiated by her younger sister, Maya.
Maya was Kamala’s campaign chairwoman last year when they dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary race finishing 16th place in December 2019.
Kelly Mehlenbacher, Harris’ state operations director, resigned because her staffers were being treated terribly. There was minimal direction on policy and Harris lacked a viable plan to win the election.
“This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly,” Mehlenbacher wrote.
Strong Ties to Elite Hollywood Fund Raising
Husband Emhoff has two children with his former wife Kerstin, a co-founder of the Los Angeles production company Prettybird. Among her clients are iMicrosoft, Nike, Coca-Cola, Adidas, and BMW.
Harris and Emhoff met in 2013, on a blind date set up by PR consultant Jacqueline “Chrisette” Hudlin, her best friend and wife of director, screenwriter, and producer Reginald Hudlin. He’s known for producing movies like House Party, Boomerang, and Django Unchained. From 2005 to 2008, he was President of Entertainment for Black Entertainment Television (BET) from and co-produced the Academy Awards ceremony in 2016.
Black Entertainment Television Founder Supports Trump
Ironically, BET founder Robert Johnson made this statement after the recent debate:
“I absolutely do not know what Vice President Biden will do. I haven’t heard anything coherent out of what he said he will do.”
Johnson said Biden should “spend the rest of his campaign apologizing to every Black person he meets.”
“This proves unequivocally that the Democratic nominee believes that black people owe him their vote without question; even though, we as black people know it is exactly the opposite…”
Emhoff and Harris own three houses in LA, San Francisco and Washington.
Emhoff’s China Connection Runs Deep
Emhoff’s DLA firm has“represented lead investors” in deals with Bytedance the company of controversial social media app TikTok. The Trump Administration is set to ban TikTok since evidence has surfaced that it feeds user information to China.
Other China state owned companies advised by DLA Piper are Huarong Investment Stock Corporation Limited, China National Gold Group, and Tencent (which hosts the WeChat app that was banned by the Trump administration over its links to the Chinese Communist Party).
Cohen Makes the Biden’s Rich
DLA Piper has a “strong strategic partnership” with The Cohen Group, a consulting firm founded by former Secretary of Defense and Joe Biden close friend and endorser Bill Cohen.
Although Cohen described President Trump as a “tyrant,” his firm employs several high-level leaders in the Chinese Communist Party and has advised party officials as part of a Harvard program. The program has been attended by entities that the Trump administration sanctioned for committing “serious human rights abuses.”
Cohen travels to China to meet with Chinese Communist Party officials to increase Chinese capital flow into the U.S. Evidence proves this has been the main avenue through which intellectual property theft and spying has occurred. He is seen as a close advisor and key to enriching the pockets of Joe, James and Hunter Biden.
More Serious Concerns Against Emhoff
Emhoff’s firm also thrives on their Washington lobbying practice with offices in places like Moscow and Riyadh.
There are serious concerns about Emhoff-Harris ties to Big Pharma. During his decade as a lawyer at the corporate firm Venable, Emhoff represented the pharmaceutical giant Merck in lawsuits tied to its drug Fosamax.
He also represented the arms dealer Dolarian Capital in a case related to its sale of AK-47s for use in Afghanistan; and a nightclub owner accused of sexual harassment and sexual battery, including spraying an employee’s hair and body “with a foreign substance” that he removed with “his mouth, lips and tongue.”
Although Emhoff has announced a leave of absence with the firm to campaign, he fielding criticism and suspicion.
“He should leave the firm entirely,” said Richard W. Painter, who served as chief White House ethics counsel during the George W. Bush administration. “Leave of absence still imputes the financial interests of the firm to him.” He added that clients that pay the firm could be accused “of trying to buy influence.”
The Herbalife Conflict
As California attorney general, Harris elected not to pursue an investigation of Herbalife, a nutritional supplements company accused of fraudulent practices in 2015.
Her San Diego regional office was pleading for an investigation. However, Herbalife was represented by Venable, partially owned by Emhoff.
Harris received at least $5,400 in donations at the time from an outside lobbyist who did work for Herbalife.
“You can’t tell me that as the A.G. of California, you have all these complaints, and then your husband is going to be working for this company?’’ Julie Contreras, an activist and pastor who has campaigned against Herbalife, said. “Somehow that was ethically inappropriate.”
By 2017, Emhoff switched firms, becoming a partner at DLA Piper, and became licensed to practice in Washington. He retained a partnership stake in Venable that was worth nearly $1.2 million.
In 2018 Venable paid Emhoff $200,000, according to the couple’s tax filings. He was paid $1.34 million by DLA Piper in 2018, tax filings show.
Among the firm’s lobbying clients with interests before the federal government are the Comcast, the telecom giant; L3 Harris Technologies, the defense contractor and the governments of Afghanistan and Bahrain. Among their most concerning clients is the Qatari government-funded Al Jazeera and the Palestine Monetary Authority.
Early in their marriage Kamala Harris was pulled into a sexual assault dispute at DLA Piper. A junior partner, Vanina Guerrero filed a complaint the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) after being sexually assaulted four times by a top deal-maker at Emhoff’s firm named Louis Lehot.
The Sexual Assault Caper
Guerrero’s lawyer, Jeanne Christensen, asked for California Sen. Harris’ help in getting her client released from DLA Piper’s mandatory arbitration rules so she can “get her day in court.”
Mentioning the press coverage of the Guerrero case and an open letter sent to DLA Piper’s leadership last week, Christensen wrote, “I hope that you either read about the open letter yourself or that your husband Douglas Emhoff, a partner at DLA Piper, shared it with you.”
Vanina Guerrero.Courtesy of Vanina Guerrero
“I am sure that you would agree that silencing women though forced arbitration must end,” Christensen wrote.
“No female employee, including a new partner, would knowingly agree to waive her right to our court system for claims involving sexual assault, battery, or rape,” Christensen continued. “Given your profile as a candidate for the Democratic nominee for President of the United States, you are in a unique position to condemn the actions of DLA Piper and make clear that mandatory arbitration must stop.”
“Again, I urge you to support Ms. Guerrero and let DLA Piper know that time is up for its draconian policy that disproportionately protects male predators at the expense of women,” Christensen wrote.
In the EEOC complaint, Guerrero wrote that Lehot lured her to his law firm with promises of fast advancement and attacked her the first time two weeks after she signed on.
Guerrero charged the attacks escalated over the next 10 months. Lehot began sabotaging her career when she resisted his advances. She said she was initially afraid to tell anyone.
“Having moved my two toddlers and husband that I support financially from Hong Kong to California for this job, I was petrified to believe what was happening to me, much less tell anyone,” she wrote in the complaint.
The One Thing She Should Not Have Said
During the debate with Vice President Mike Pence last week, Harris’ most telling statement was, “The American people aren’t equipped to make these decisions for themselves.”
Playing Around With San Francisco’s Willie
Former Los Angeles Mayor Willie Brown recent recently acknowledged the affair and promotions he gave Harris, his junior by 30 years.
“Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago,” Brown wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was [California] Assembly speaker. And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco.”
Brown, 84, pointed out that he also helped the careers of other prominent California Democrats, such as U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom and U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
“The difference is that Harris is the only one who, after I helped her, sent word that I would be indicted if I ‘so much as jaywalked’ while she was D.A.,” Brown wrote. “That’s politics for ya.”
