Goldfinger was the first James Bond I saw in 1963 at the Trail Drive In outdoor movie theater in San Antonio. It was thrilling, action packed, adventurous and I was hooked.

Years later I was able to interview two “Bond Girls” and met another.

Lana Wood, sister of the legendary Natalie, was very open and willing to talk. It was at a Space convention in the Alamo City where I was also able to meet such space related people such as astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Wally Schirra, with actors Clint Howard, James Drury and others.

Teri Hatcher was on the green (not red) carpet of the Westwood Theater for the Hollywood Premiere of Shrek 3 where I interviewed such actors as Mike Meyers, Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz, Julie Andrews and Denise Richards.

From the earliest films to the latest blockbusters, these characters became part of the visual identity of James Bond.

Their style, confidence, danger, and allure helped shape what the franchise became, making them not only supporting players but cultural figures in their own right.

The “Bond girl” quickly grew into a defining feature of the series and a major contributor to its international success.
