In November 2025, her defense claimed two Assistant District Attorneys (ADA) within the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office bought Wilkens’ former home where she lived during her abusive relationship, according to court documents.

“…Present counsel has learned that two Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) in the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office purchased the home where Ms. Wilkens lived during the time of her abusive relationship to Mr. Carlton,” read the motion.

“On October 31st, 2025, ADA Ashley Nix and ADA Luke Thompson held their wedding in the home where Ms. Wilkens was stalked, beaten, terrorized, and abused. Upon information and belief, many of the other DAs in the office attended and celebrated in the former home of Ms. Wilkens. The ADAs are known to discuss the fact that they purchased “April Wilkens’ house,” and frequently discuss it with friends and colleagues.”
Wilkens’ defense said they believe DA Kunzwelier and the members of his office involved in the case proceedings have not upheld their duty of neutrality.

“It is commonly understood in practice that when a conflict of interest exists in a case which calls into question the appearance of impropriety, the court shall resolve all doubt in favor of disqualification. Mr. Kunzweiler and his office’s animus toward Ms. Wilkens clearly resolves all doubt toward disqualification,” read the motion.

It’s heartbreaking to see how the system can fail certain people and let them continue to suffer. Contrast that with “catch and releases” who’ve committed horrendous unprovoked crime with barely a slap on the wrist. 😦

This was clearly a set-up and the parties involved, including the 2 ADAs now living in her former house, need to answer for their crimes. This makes my blood boil considering April didn’t run away after the shooting, but waited for police to arrive. She also didn’t deny shooting him, and had contacted police after previous episodes of domestic violence against her. 🤨

Keeping April in prison because the ADAs wanted her house is evil. 👿 Conspiracy theories don’t come much more apparent than this. Why would she be a threat to anyone else? She killed her documented abuser and apparently had no history of violence-just a nice house.

Miss Nancy: April was considered a threat to the County’s District Attorney’s Office, as the former DA, Harris, I believe his name is, was in cahoots with (and his campaign was financed by) the father of her abuser. Daddy has been paying boat loads of $$ to the corrupt DA’s office to ensure his little boy’s shooter is never released from prison. 🤬
The stat that really frosts me is the one that says Oklahoma has the highest rate of incarcerated women, most of whom are victims of domestic violence/abuse. Time to do a thorough house cleaning in many OK Counties‼️🧹
