It was obvious by the second weekend of Disney’s live-action remake of “Snow White” (which premiered on March 21) would be a bomb when it earned only $14.2 million domestically, a drop of 66% from opening weekend.

Obviously, not learning from their previous runs with wokism disasters, they cast Rachel Zegler in the title role with her political comments proving to be even more catastrophic for Disney.

“Disney is having an identity crisis that has trickled down to its ability to update its best-loved fairy tales into modern remakes,” wrote Exclaim! critic Lindsay Clarke.

Kent Garrison of Mad About Movies, who graded the movie a D, said “Disney has lost sight of why they started doing animation in the first place: because there’s just some things you shouldn’t do in live action.”

“While I never expected a masterpiece, I’m still a little stunned by the sheer awfulness of this remake,” critic John McDonald noted.

“the jumble of tones and styles laid atop this basic narrative feels like it’s trying to please everyone and ends up pleasing no one,” Tribune News critic Katie Walsh expressed.

Reviewer Yasser Medina wrote, “It is, frankly, a soulless and perpetually boring remake, which produces serious numbing effects with the bland fairy tale of the seven CGI dwarfs and the pretentious little princess played without grace by Rachel Zegler.”

Social media response was just as brutal:

Ugh. Glad it bombed. I am so done with Disney (like they care, eh?).

A hundred million here, another few hundred million there, pretty soon, we’re talking real money. Disney lost their was decades ago and now Disney’s granddaughter is running the show and she’s as woke as the above princess. What did they think when she was cast? I’m rooting for Angel Studios, now there is some real movie making going on there.

It showed for a few days in Granbury and now it’s gone. We hope to catch it on Prime.

I was a Disney fanatic from childhood. Today, 3 of my all-time Top 25 favorite movies are Disney animated classics. In fact, I give old school Disney some credit for helping me to keep the “little boy” in me alive and well into my 60s. However, I went into full Disney boycott mode way back in 1998 or ’99 when I read the book ‘DISNEY: THE MOUSE BETRAYED’ (Greed, Corruption, and Children at Risk) by Peter Schweizer.
From that point on, any Disney products I bought (i.e., old animated classics on DVD), I acquired used, so that fat Rat corporation wouldn’t see a penny from my purchases.
It’s sad, though, because I have so many wonderful memories of the Disneyland Hotel & The Magic Kingdom from when they truly were fantastic places to spend a day or night. Even now, when I have trouble falling asleep, I’ll imagine myself back at a certain spot at the old Disneyland Hotel – before the Rats ruined it – and it usually helps me drift away into dreamland.
Same thing with the Dodgers! I literally grew up in Dodger Stadium with family and friends. But after that “Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence” crap they pulled a couple years ago, I threw my old Dodgers cap in a trash can and have been in full boycott mode ever since!
I thank God that ‘Somebody’s Coming’ soon to straighten out this disgusting, demonic mess in the world!

Totally understand. I have been to Disneyland 12x and Disney World 32x. Dodger Stadium only 4 (but I live in Texas). Our family does not support them anymore.

Rachel Zegler is young and has made serious mistakes that she does not appear to be learning from. Disney is not an organization I intend to support.
