White House Adviser Storms Out of Press Conference After Fox News Reporter Questions Biden-Harris Hurricane Response

Biden-Harris press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre walked out of Monday’s White House briefing when Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked a question.

His probe for an answer hit a nerve regarding  the administration’s publicly announced aid to civilians in Lebanon displaced by fighting versus Americans hit hard by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina and other Southeastern states.

See the exchange here:

Doocy asked about aid to Lebanon that was announced in a post Vice President Kamala Harris posted Saturday on the social media platform X.

“I am concerned about the security and well-being of civilians suffering in Lebanon and will continue working to help meet the needs of all civilians there,” Harris wrote.

Her quote came a day after Joe Biden’s office sent a letter to the leaders of the House and Senate asking Congress to approve funding to help the victims of Hurricane Helene.

“On this issue of funding,” Doocy said. “The administration has money to send to Lebanon without Congress coming back, but Congress does have to come back to approve money to send to people in North Carolina. Do I have that right?”

He was referring to the nearly $157 million for refugees in Lebanon but Biden-Harris appeared to  be trying to find money for the Federal Emergency Management Agency as Hurricane Milton approaches.

Referring to a White House transcript, she spewed out the numbers of dollars previously spent in the hurricane zone before insinuating Doocy was spreading “disinformation, misinformation.”

“We’ve taken this very seriously,” Jean-Pierre, who was promoted to “Senior Adviser” just prior to the press conference, responded. “More than $200 million that we have provided to the impacted areas, but instead, people want to do disinformation, misinformation, which is dangerous.”

Biden said the week before that “without additional funding, FEMA would be required to forgo longer-term recovery activities in favor of meeting urgent needs.”

Doocy continued to seek clarification.

“No, the way you’re asking me the question is misinformation,” Jean-Pierre snapped back. “There is money that we are allocating to the impacted areas, and there’s money there to help people who truly need it.”

“You can’t call a question that you don’t like ‘misinformation.’ That’s very unfair,” Doocy countered.

At that point she called it quits and exited the room.

“Thanks, everybody,” she said.

Her demeanor did not go unnoticed:
