Trump: “When you have a flat, open roof like that…How can somebody be up there?” Trump asked. “And they (the Secret Service) see him but don’t report him.”
“If they would have said wait 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes because we have a possible problem…I wish somebody would’ve done that because Corey would be alive,” he added.
Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle, subpoenaed by the US House Oversight Committee, testified Monday nine days after her department’s failure to prevent a sniper from shooting at President Donald J. Trump on July 13.
In the background, eyewitness claims, whistleblower information and mainstream media reports are flaming the fires for conspiracy theories.
Titled, Oversight of the U.S. Secret Service and the Attempted Assassination of President Donald J. Trump, the chairman, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) announced as the long hearing was coming to an end that they would officially be calling for whoever the president is, to impeach her.
Cheatle, who was appointed by Joe Biden in August 2022, reports to U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas (who has been impeached) faced questions she would not answer and earned biparticalls for her resignation, but said last week that she has no intentions to step down.
Rep. James Comer:
During Comer’s questioning, he remarked that “One of the things that you said in an interview that there wasn’t an agent on the roof because it was a sloped roof. Is that normal? And do you fear that that immediately creates an opportunity for future would-be assassins to look for a slanted roof?”
Cheatle replied, “There was a plan in place to provide overwatch,” and added that the Secret Service generally prefers “to have sterile rooftops.”
“We are still looking into responsibilities and who was going to provide overwatch,” she said.
“You cannot go leading a Secret Service agency when there is an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate!” Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., told Cheatle.
“I believe, Director Cheatle, that you should resign. I think there are colleagues on both sides of the aisle that believe that and I hope you’ll consider it,” she continued. “Do you really believe that the majority of this country has confidence in you right now?”
“I believe that the country deserves answers and I am committed to finding those answers and providing those answers,” the director replied.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., asked whether the Secret Service had ever considered pausing the rally.
“I can speak to you in generalities,” Cheatle responded.
“I don’t want generalities I want specifics!” Krishnamoorthi shot back.
“The people that are in charge of protecting the president on that day would never bring the former president out if there was a threat that had been identified,” she answered.
“Well, they did because we’ve now identified three points in the, in the 20 minutes before the shooting, that the threat emerged,’ the congressman went back at her.
Krishnamoorthi asked Cheatle to confirm if the building the shooter fired off his attacks from (the AGR building) was “clearly within rifle range” of the president.
She said it was.
“Despite the fact that AGR building was in rifle range of the stage, it was placed outside the security perimeter,” he stressed.

If she won’t step down, then it means she would have to be impeached and forced to? Who oversees her, Congress? That she is so supremely arrogant in the face of such blatant, either failure or complicity, is all too typical of the left, but this takes the cake.
