Let’s get straight to it. This dish speaks for itself and tastes wonderful.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Smoked sausage, thinly sliced
- 2 lbs potatoes, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions for garnish

Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sliced sausage until cooked through. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the diced onions and minced garlic until translucent.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced potatoes, cooked sausage, sautéed onions and garlic, shredded cheese, ranch dressing mix, milk, and melted butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes. Then, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is beautifully golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped green onions just before serving. Enjoy the hearty goodness!

I made this last night for dinner and it we really enjoyed it! I used turkey sausage and a mixture of different cheeses that I had in the fridge. Rather than dice the potatoes, I sliced them. Next time, I will cut back on the butter since it pooled up on the bottom of the dish. Very tasty!
