Government officials and public policymakers should have just trusted people to act rationally and responsibly and take precautions without any mandates, at least data from the 2020 wave of the COVID-19 pandemic proves.
This compelling determination was made after a meta-analysis study of 24 scientific papers, revealed the true evidence by a team of researchers led by Professor Steve H. Hanke, who co-directs the Johns Hopkins Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health, and the Study of Business Enterprise.
If there was any benefit to mortality rates, it was due to forced closures of bars and restaurants. Both traffic and gastrointestinal deaths were down.
“Overall, we conclude that lockdowns are not an effective way of reducing mortality rates during a pandemic, at least not during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic,” the researchers said.
This was the same conclusion a team at the World Health Organization said in 2006 about the public response to the 1918 influenza pandemic.
Other studies point out that the term “COVID” was simply substituted as the cause of death in place of the annual flu and cold numbers. There was no cause to mandate such extreme measures and points toward a worldwide plan of governments control.
“In the early stages of a pandemic, before the arrival of vaccines and new treatments, a society can respond in two ways: mandated behavioral changes or voluntary behavioral changes,” the paper said. “Our study fails to demonstrate significant positive effects of mandated behavioral changes (lockdowns). This should draw our focus to the role of voluntary behavioral changes.”
This and similar studies through the years have concluded there is no empirical evidence that compulsory government policies and lockdowns, including closing businesses, churches and public gatherings prevented deaths from Covid-19.
It just wasn’t worth all this as “lockdowns in Europe and the United States only reduced Covid-19 mortality by 0.2% on average.”
Some non-pharmaceutical interventions, like hand-washing and keeping a distance at supermarkets, are difficult to force by mandates. In many cases lockdowns had detrimental and unintended negative consequences. Banning people from relatively safe open public spaces and forcing them to spend all their time at home with family, who may be asymptomatic and infectious, is one example, the researchers said.

Rush was right. Even I and a few others figured from day one that all the lockdowns, masks, and social distancing was a trial run for Socialism and a psyop to see if people would comply. You could just feel that something was voodoo about it.

A better Screen Name would have eliminated me saying this over and over, I am Not A Doctor, Dr. Artaud is a Character in a 2001 Movie and I associated with him, I chose the name years ago.
Dr. Ioannidis (a real Doctor, an Epidemiologist, and a Professor at Stanford, not like Dr. Fauci that merely plays one on TV), said that end stage cancer patients that died of the flu were recorded as cancer deaths, but with covid the same situation is regarded as a covid death. Dr. Ioannidis said many people that died of covid were days away from dying of other causes.
Pneumonia is the 2nd most common cause of hospital admissions, even before covid. When is the last time anyone knew someone with non-covid pneumonia, I think this frequent and unfortunate illness was exploited for covid cases. The flu, killing 60,000 to 80,000 Americans annually, reportedly only killed 800 last year. Really? No chance they were stolen for covid deaths? People that tested positive for covid within the previous 28 days were listed as covid deaths even if they died of suicide, homicide, or vehicle accident, and I’d imagine natural causes. My point is the numbers were grotesquely over-reported for covid, so the effect Lock-Downs had is probably even smaller than the values given. And guess what, the 2019/2020 flu season was reported to be projected to be the worst in modern history, then covid came along, how convenient.
I taught Respirators (Air Purifying) in Industry. I wear an N95 when Masks are required, I never wore a Mask. There is no face to facepiece seal on a Mask, so Airborne Particles can enter the mask. Masks were not intended to protect the wearer, but to help protect others from the wearer, yet they let us believe they worked and we were wearing them to protect ourselves.
Fauci said that he told us we didn’t need masks, just the Front Line Workers. Then he said we need to wear masks and the reason he said we didn’t was he wanted to preserve supplies for hospitals. That means, if covid is a virulent virus, and death very possible, telling us we don’t need masks when we do is criminal negligence. If masks don’t protect us and telling is that they do, they cause people to take risks because they felt protected, and therefore people died, and it is still criminal negligence. The man needs arrested and put on trial. There can be no doubt that if covid is a deadly as he claims, that he violated law and his position in regulatory agencies.
I believe covid exists, I believe that some people were horribly affected by it, and many died, but it’s evident that the numbers of cases and deaths have been hyper inflated. Dr. Ioannidis (mentioned earlier) suggested Society Remain Open for those with minimal risk, and that vulnerable patients be sheltered (they could have used staff that were hired that recovered from covid and therefore had natural immunity and they would not pass it on to the Nursing Home residents). Dr. Ioannidis said that the govt did the exact opposite of what he recommended.

Dr-Artaud, you have said it well. Anyone that did a respirator fit test knew masks only helped others, and then only if the mask wearer was ill; a sneeze catcher, if you will. The WHO had on their website in Feb. 2020 information stating that lockdowns don’t work and that it was proven that they didn’t work, but the test of the American will went forward and now Fraudci is perpetuating it to see how far we will go. Courage is contagious!
