During World War II U.S. submarines could dive to a depth of 350 feet. The Japanese believed around 150 feet was their depth limit and would set their depth charges to that depth or less.
A U.S. Congressman, Andrew May, visited Pearl Harbor and when he returned home told the media “our subs can dive to 350 feet.”
Most of our subs were then lost the remainder of the war.
Decades later, as Vice President, Joe Biden did the most unthinkable thing for a man in his position.
He revealed the unit that killed Osama Bin Laden on May 3 2011, at a national event in Washington.
Suddenly, the whole world, including our enemies, knew that Biden had publicly revealed the identity of the special-operations unit responsible for bin Laden’s killing.
How impressive for his ego to show he “is in the know”. His reckless action put at risk the lives of every member of Seal Team 6.
The Taliban and other jihadists eager to avenge bin Laden now knew which unit to target. Stunned and shocked, Seal Team Six members immediately realized they were going to be hunted by al Qaeda sympathizers.
Soon after Biden’s reckless speech, an American CH47 Chinook was shot down by a rocket propelled grenade in the Tangi Valley, Maidan Wardak Province, Afghanistan.
All 38 aboard were killed including most of Seal Team Six.
In military circles, this incident is known as “Extortion 17.”
After Biden had let the identification out, and before the Chinook was shot down, members of Seal Team 6 had called their families and told them to wipe out all connection to them, including social media, and disassociate themselves as far away from them as possible. Their families would now in grave danger as the Taliban would attempt to find them in retaliation.
On May 3, 2011, Biden, before the crowd and the cameras at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C., actually said this:
Admiral James Stavridis… can tell you more about… the incredible, the phenomenal, the just almost unbelievable capacity of his Navy SEALs and what they did last Sunday…
I’d be remiss also if I didn’t say an extra word about the incredible events, extraordinary events of this past Sunday. As Vice President of the United States, as an American, I was in absolute awe of the capacity and dedication of the entire team, both the intelligence community, the CIA, the SEALs.”
Less than a day after Biden’s remarks Aaron Vaughn, one of those SEALs, called his mother Karen:
“There’s chatter and all of our lives are in danger including yours, Mom.”
On August 6, 2011, in the Tangi River Valley of Afghanistan, Aaron Vaughn and 30 other Americans, including 15 members of SEAL Team 6, were killed when their fifty year old helicopter, designated Extortion 17, was hit by a rocket propelled grenade.
In November, 2019, Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, who is purportedly the person who assassinated bin Laden, tweeted Biden was opposed to the 2011 raid to kill the terrorist leader.
It was the worst loss of life in the history of the Navy SEALs but the Obama Administration, the fact-check propaganda machines and mainstream media tried to downplay the facts.
By his arrogance and carelessness, Joe Biden revealed the unit, and signed the death warrants of America’s finest warriors and never looked back.
Now he’s the best the Democratic Party has to offer as their presidential candidate.
