Do you know what a sinecure is? You’re about to find out why some particular American politicians and their families would rather you ignore them. My guess is you (and others you share this with) will be angry when you know.
Most Americans realize mainstream media pushes disinformation on Russia (especially supporting false narratives on President Trump), but little is presented about the China connection with U.S. politicians.
What fake news is not telling us is terrifying.
1. Beijing ramped up their “influence campaigns” on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms, including:
–aggressive campaigns to deflect their blame on the pandemic outbreak.
–actively exploited and encouraged U.S. unrest against police and law enforcement.
–successfully had Twitter take down over 170,000 accounts linked to Chinese regime.
–they employ a “50-cent army” of thousands who manually make online posts for .50 each to push their propaganda. (It’s more difficult for analysts to trace their automatic and deceptive ‘bot’ attempts too).
–the popular video app TikTok is owned by a Beijing-based company and uses it to “gain all kinds of insights and leverage it to manipulate Americans,” revealed Mark Grabowski, cyber law professor at Adelphi University.
2. India calls COVID virus the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic for good reason:
–the recent killing of 20 Indian soldiers by China’s People’s Liberation Army has intensified anti-Beijing sentiment.
–India is now changing import, real estate, and investment strategies to reduce China’s influences.
–they are excluding Chinese telecom companies from any 4G network rework or expansion.
3. California Governor Gavin Newsom made a SECRET deal with Chinese AUTOMAKER BYD for $1 Billion to supply 200 million masks a month for the state.
–200 million masks a month with a population of 70 million at $3.30 each? U.S. based 3M sells theirs for $1.78. Looking back at the secret deal it was fraught with problems: no health certification, lack of deliveries, and quality issues.
–California Senate and Congress say the secret deal was illegal and want answers. But California politicians ars not good about providing answers for their illegal actions.
–In 2013 Gov. Jerry Brown announced this same company would build electric buses for California instead of American companies. The results were scores of troubles with their products and over 20 safety workplace violations.
–BYD has extensive lobbying efforts and has been generous to California leadership causes. They spent more than $1 million lobbying state officials since 2014 and made a $50,000 contribution to the 2018 ballot measure campaign to keep in place California’s new taxes on gas and diesel sales.
4. Joe Biden must lay low, knowing his base will lose interest in his China connections. But most Americans are finding his relationship with Beijing is profoundly disturbing.
–Biden’s family has become exceptionally weathly from connections he formed while directly leading the Obama administration’s policies toward both China and Ukraine.
–Only those who don’t religiously follow fake news know that just one week after Hunter Biden joined his father on Air Force Two as Vice President on a trip to China, he received a job getting paid millions to “manage” a $1.5 billion deal for their interests that he had no experience with.
–Son Hunter still (as of July 22, 2020) holds a 10% equity stake in the Chinese government-linked Bohai Harvest RST (Shanghai) Equity Investment Fund Management Company. Even though he is no longer “officially” listed on the Board of Directors.
–When Patrick Ho, a high-ranking Chinese businessman, was charged by the Justice Dept. with global corruption in 2017, a court filing showed the first call he made after his arrest was to Joe Biden’s brother James.
–Hunter Biden agreed to work on a liquefied natural gas deal worth tens of millions of dollars with CEFC China Energy’s leader Ye Jianming, who had ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The deal fell apart when Ye was arrested and now spending three years in federal prison.
-Kathleen Biden, Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, accused him in divorce filings of “spending extravagantly on his own interests … while leaving the family with no funds to pay legitimate bills.” The filing discusses a “large” diamond, worth $80,000, he claimed he no longer had. Later he changed his mind and admitted the diamond was a gift from Ye.
“What would they be bribing me for? My dad wasn’t in office,” Hunter Biden told the New Yorker. “I knew it wasn’t a good idea to take it. I just felt like it was weird.”
–In 1996, when Joe Biden was nicknamed the “Senator from MBNA,” his son went to work for the powerful Delaware credit card issuer. By 2001, Hunter went full-time as a federal lobbyist, but remained on the payroll of MBNA as a consultant until 2005, when Biden’s national Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act went into law.
In retrospect, political and economic analysts can see the impact of Biden’s bill and how lucrative it was for his son’s employers and interests. It blocked people from discharging private student loan debt under bankruptcy. Total student loan debt was under $400 million then. It has surged in the wake of the law’s passage and is now over $1.5 trillion.
By 2005 Hunter was working with his Uncle James (Joe’s younger brother) at Paradigm Global Advisors. It was there that James told company officials that clients looking to “invest in Joe Biden” would come knocking, as reported by several news outlets.
Two year later James and Hunter Biden began working with a team tobacco lawyers to start up more lobbying efforts, but two prospective partners were caught on an FBI wiretap saying, “We really need to push on the Senate bill,” and “We’re going to meet with the Bidens around noon” on a deal. The two caught on the recordings were arrested and the deal fell through.
James Biden then scurried over to a construction firm in November 2010. In June 2011, while Vice President Joe Biden was overseeing Iraq policy, the firm won a $1.5 billion contract building homes in Iraq.
By 2014 Hunter Biden, less than a year after enlisting in the Navy, was discharged for testing positive for cocaine. A crack pipe was found in his rental car, while he was being paid $50,000 a month serving on the board of Burisma. Web archives from that year show him prominently tauted on Burisma’s website:
Even the New York Post has come down hard on the Bidens when in March they suggested Bernie Sanders was right about criticizing the Vice President for actions supportive of China.
“Tell it to Asian democracies Beijing’s menacing,” they wrote. “Tell it to the American factory workers who lost good jobs while Hunter got $80,000 a month for his princeling sinecure.”
Chinese commentators describe sinecure as a “Xianchai.” They are special considerations reserved for offspring of important officials, especially at a Chinese company called BHR Partners.
BHR is a $20 billion fund with shareholders that include China Life, China Development Bank and other state-owned entities. China’s State Council calls on BHR to find deals abroad by hiring foreigners with political connections.
