North Korea
Likely death penalty or severe punishment. As a totalitarian state, North Korea treats unauthorized border crossings, especially by defectors or perceived enemies, as serious crimes. Illegal entrants face execution, long-term imprisonment in brutal labor camps, or torture.

Pakistan
Pakistan illegal entry can result in a 10-year prison sentence and a fine of up to 10,000 rupees.
India
India’s Foreigners Act permits up to 8 years of imprisonment for illegal entry. This is particularly enforced in sensitive border areas, though deportation is common in less severe cases. The penalty is among the higher prison terms globally.

Singapore
Up to 6 months in prison, a fine of up to $6,000, and a minimum of three strokes of the cane.
Russia
Up to 2 years of forced labor or imprisonment, or up to 5 years if entry involves violence or a group.
Iran
Iran’s penal code allows for up to 3 years of imprisonment or fines for illegal entry. However, in border regions or cases involving security threats, reports suggest severe punishments, including lashings or indefinite detention.

Saudia Arabia
Saudi Arabia imposes up to 7 years of imprisonment and substantial fines for illegal entry, often followed by deportation. The combination of a long sentence and strict enforcement in a country with limited legal protections makes this severe.
