Is Comey the First Person in History to Find ‘8647’ on a Beach?

The United States Secret Service is investigating James Comey, the controversial former Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) director, for posting an image of seashells arranged in the shape of the numerals “8647.”

Comey, fired by President Donald J. Trump, early in his first term, was accused Thursday of calling for violence against Trump in a since-deleted Instagram post.

The number “86” is commonly used as slang by mafia or gang members as a signal to get rid of someone or something. Trump is the 47th president of the US.

“Cool shell formation on my beach walk,” Comey posted.

The vast majority of people walking on beaches find sea shells, starfish, sand dollars, or driftwood.

What are the odds, of all people on earth, this particular disgraced FBI Director would find those exact shells shaped as “8647” in the sand at that specific location at that point in time–and decide to take a picture of it to post?

Astronomical odds

“While President Trump is currently on an international trip to the Middle East, the former FBI Director puts out what can clearly be interpreted as ‘a hit’ on the sitting President of the United States — a message etched in the sand,” White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich wrote on X. “This is deeply concerning to all of us and is being taken seriously.”

Social Media blew up with posts condemning, accusing, and ridiculing Comey:

Some news agencies reported examples of the 8647 threats:

Comey instantly became a parody of ridicule;

People noted Comey has a habit of posting political beach findings, including his post on October 2024: “Vote Harris.”

Others recalled George Soros’ owned Michigan Governor Gretchen Witmer’s post in 2020:

  1. Whether or not he did it, as a former FBI director, he should have known that posting that was not a good idea. He’s probably used to the previous administration turning a blind eye to DJT threats and mock decapitations of him.

  2. Way to go; let’s all put the fear of God into him with a lot of roaring in his direction, and I do hope some justice comes about with this from actual law enforcement. Glad to see it taken seriously, which obviously, he did not expect at all. The fun is over.

  3. Yes, it sure could. Monday, I tried the CIA, got no phone number, tried to leave an email, they said “something went wrong.” So, I called the FBI, and got connected to the Secret Service. I told them I wanted to leave a comment about the need to make Comey accountable, basically, and, since this was a man of very few words, he just said, “Thank you.” I hope a lot of people do some things like this, and make some noise in the right way. Also called the Senate Majority Leader and Speaker of the House, to leave messages about doing proper procedure to go after this runaway judicial system. Made the leap. WE have to engage and not falter, because the Left sure won’t slack off until they are soundly, roundly defeated. It would be better if a lot of them saw the light and woke up, but, in the meantime….the only thing they understand is pushback.
