President Donald Trump’s return to the White House has been good for Fox News as they dominated televised audience ratings throughout January. Largely kept viewers glued.
CNN and MSNBC are battling for a distant second place behind Fox News, which recorded the best January in the history of cable news. The January ratings for CNN and MSNBC are currently running considerably behind their 12-month averages.
Fox News network grew its audience by +40% year-over-year in total viewership and +61% in the demo time slot.
Fox News had 2.781 million total viewers and 353,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo during primetime. Across total day, it averaged 1.916 million viewers in the former category and 253,000 viewers in the latter.
Compared to its performance in December 2024, Fox News was up +31% in total viewers and +47% in the demo during primetime viewing hours. During total day, it was up a respective +30% and +42% in those respective categories.
