Canada Will Protect Border After Trump Threatens Tariff Ramifications

Trump & Trudeau

Canada has changed her tune about border security  after US President-elect Donald Trump threatened to impose ramifications when he takes office in January, 2025.

His plan to impose a 25% tariff on Canadian goods if the country does not take measures to protect its shared border to the flow of irregular migrants and illegal drugs.

Canada has now introduced new border regulations in response to Trump’s tariff threat.

To minimize transnational organized crime, Canada has vowed to establish a combined “strike force,”and bolster monitoring along its border with the United States.”

Economists and most political leaders realize such tariffs could cause significant damage to Canada’s economy.

“The Great State of Canada is stunned as the Finance Minister resigns, or was fired, from her position by Governor Justin Trudeau,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Her behavior was totally toxic, and not at all conducive to making deals which are good for the very unhappy citizens of Canada. She will not be missed!!!”

“Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced the biggest test of his political career after Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, long one of his most powerful and loyal ministers, resigned from the Cabinet on Monday,” the Associated Press reported.

LeBlanc

Trudeau quickly replaced the vacancy with Dominic LeBlanc, who announced a new border plan, saying that the federal government would dedicate $909 million for the next six years towards the effort.

Minister Dominic LeBlanc said on Tuesday, the measures “will secure our border against the flow of illegal drugs and irregular migration while ensuring the free flow of people and goods that are at the core of North America’s prosperity.”

As per the plan, the five pillars will cover:

● the disruption of the fentanyl trade,

● new tools for law enforcement,

● enhanced coordination with US law enforcement,

● increased information sharing and limiting traffic at the border.

It also includes the proposed aerial surveillance task force, including helicopters, drones and mobile surveillance towers between ports of entry.

LeBlanc said he had an “encouraging” meeting with Trump’s border czar Tom Homan.

“I went through with Mr. Homan the information that we’re sharing with you today,” he explained. “I’m encouraged by that conversation and by conversations I’ve had with the incoming Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick.”

LeBlanc attended a meeting between Trudeau and Trump at Mar-a-Lago last month.

Trudeau’s government is also providing funds to the Canada Border Service Agency to train new dog teams to find illegal drugs, and new detection tools for high-risk ports of entry.

LeBlanc, meanwhile, said the “joint strike force” would include “support in operational surges, dedicated synthetic drug units, expanded combined forces, special enforcement units, binational integrated enforcement teams, and new operational capacity and infrastructure.”

According to a report by Reuters, US authorities apprehended more than 23,000 people near the US-Canada border in the 12 months ending in October, more than double the previous year but a small fraction of the 1.5 million people apprehended near the US-Mexico border during that time.

  1. I don’t trust the Castro’s off spring. I remember when Castro’s boy allowed anybody to come into Canada to claim asylum a few years back. One of the many weak borders crossing is Manitoba showed the RCMP holding out their hands to help them cross into Canada illegally with no repucussions.

The House right now is on Christmas break until January 21. Trump gave Canada until January 20 before tarriff charges. Hahaha Justine is a narcassisst through and through. Lets hope with the help of Trump government we can finally be rid of the parasite once and for all.
