In our own personal 2020 survey of simply counting flags, banners and signs in a 13 state (and D.C. on the 4th of July weekend) roadtrip in July, the Trump count was 157. Biden = 0. It was not until we were on one street in Austin, Texas that we finally drove through a neighborhood with 4 Biden and 6 Black Lives Matter yard signs. But that was leftist Austin.
This was during the height of COVID restrictions with mandates on spacing between individuals, wearing masks, public assembly, and church and school attendance.
We learned along the way that many Americans were opposed to wearing masks, travel curtailment, and being told to get vaccinated. Many fellow travelers were carrying guns, eating in restaurants and going to crowded attractions.
Our preconcieved ideas, based on false media propaganda, was particularly startling because we visited diverse groups of cities and attractions with plenty people also enjoying being defiant to the political and media stances.
● Graceland, in Memphis.
● Various museums. amusement rides and theaters in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
● Andy Griffith’s childhood home and museum in North Carolina.
● The Washington Mall in DC.
● Noah’s Ark Encounter in Kentucky.
● Note that the area around the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, while it didn’t have signs of Biden support, revealed indications of the leftist local government with homeless encampments, destruction of property, rampant drug use and high crime.
● Noah Live at the Sight & Sound Theater and various rides, entertainment & dining venues in Branson, Missouri.
How 2024 is Different
In 2024, things are different. We are seeing a multitude of different types of signs and indications of strong Donald Trump-JD Vance support.
More people have significant concerns after almost 4 years of crime, immigrant, and cost increases.
More Americans understand the corruption in politics, especially in the Democrat party.
We are seeing more billboards and novelty promotions.
