2.6 Million Honda Cars Being Recalled

  • Approximately 2.6 million vehicles are affected in the United States
  • Fuel pumps will be replaced, for free
  • No reported crashes/injuries related to this issue

American Honda will voluntarily recall approximately 2.6 million 2017-2020 Acura and Honda vehicles in the United States to replace their fuel pumps, for free.

The fuel pump impeller was improperly molded, resulting in low density impellers. Over time, the low-density impeller can deform and interfere with the fuel pump body, rendering the fuel pump inoperative.

If the fuel pump module is inoperative, the engine may not start or can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Honda has not received any reports of crash or injury related to this issue.

Countermeasure replacement parts are not available in sufficient quantities for all recalled vehicles at the time of this announcement, and American Honda intends to notify vehicle owners in stages.

Initial mailed notification of the recall to all owners will occur in early-Feb. 2024 with subsequent mailings to occur as parts become available.

Owners of these models can also determine if their specific vehicles will require the recall repair by visiting www.recalls.acura.comwww.recalls.honda.com or by calling (888) 234-2138.

    • I had a GMC Sierra and drove it 313,640 miles. Just kept it maintained (oil changes basically). By then the writing was on the wall so now we are a one car family. Honda Civic, but we like it: backup camera, skyroof, heated seats, etc. We’ve driven through 18 states & DC in it & love it, but I miss my pickup.

  1. Just love my 2015 Honda Civic XL I named Gertie. Besides her being sturdy, reliable and a great traveling vehicle, I paid her off this month (December), so she’s mine free and clear starting in 2024! WOO HOO‼‼ Thank you Lord for this amazing New Year blessing! 💗🚗

    • Wow, what a feeling, car paid off! I do miss my Toyota pickups; they were great, but I went without a vehicle for almost a year and a half, till a long time client found out and did something about it. The Lord went to work and now I have a beautiful white Rav4, a stunning gift of His love. I just got it inspected today, a 2020, with 24,000 miles on it and Merry Christmas! I had this bumper sticker from 1974 that I’d never used, waiting for the perfect vehicle. It says “Wave If You Love Jesus.” The glue was still good.
