Kevin McCarthy Finally Caves: Biden to Face Formal Impeachment Inquiry

“I am directing our House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy stated this morning. “Over the past several months, House Republicans have uncovered serious and credible allegations into President Biden’s conduct—a culture of corruption.”

See announcement here.

“This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather the full facts and answers for the American public.”

“I do not make this decision lightly. Regardless of your party or who you voted for, these facts should concern all Americans,” McCarthy noted. “The American people deserve to know that public offices are not for sale and that the federal government is not being used to cover up the actions of a politically associated family.”

“Through our investigations, we have found that President Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family’s foreign business dealings. Eyewitnesses have testified that the president joined on multiple phone calls and had multiple interactions, dinners resulted in cars and millions of dollars into his sons and his son’s business partners,” he continued.

“We know that bank records show that nearly $20 million in payments were directed to the Biden family members and associates through various Shell companies,” he revealed. “The Treasury Department alone has more than 150 transactions involving the Biden family. Another business associates that were flagged as suspicious activity by U.S. banks. Even a trusted FBI informant has alleged a bribe to the Biden family. Biden used his official office to coordinate with Hunter Biden’s business partners about Hunter’s role in Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company.”

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., will lead the inquiry in coordination with House Oversight Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, R-Mo.

“Finally, despite these serious allegations, it appears that the president’s family has been offered special treatment by Biden’s own administration,” he stated. “Treatment that not otherwise would have received if they were not related to the president. These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption, and they want further investigation by the House of Representatives.”

This formal impeachment inquiry can provide more strength to the House investigation, especially as it battles in court for access to Biden family financial records.

Republicans have been struggling against Biden’s protective Justice Department, who not only refuses to fully investigate the allegations against Hunter Biden, but appears to be hiding evidence.

Critics say Hunter Biden has received over and above preferential treatment in his earlier sweetheart plea deal that recently collapsed. The DOJ has appointed a biased and suspect special prosecutor in that probe.

Hunter Biden

These previous House committee investigations have churned up credible evidence against the Biden Crime Family. In summary, they include:

• Biden’s participation in phone calls with Hunter Biden’s business partners.

• Almost $20 million in payments made through shell companies to the Biden family and associates.

• Testimony from a reliable FBI informant that the Biden family accepted illegal bribes as part of these business dealings.

McCarthy’s endorsement is his political attempt to prevent a likely revolt from non-RINO conservatives and avoid a government shutdown.

Freedom Caucus

Members of the House Freedom Caucus — the same patriotic group that held up McCarthy’s ascension to the speakership and opposed his debt limit deal with President Biden — have said they would not support a continuing resolution unless it includes certain language on border security and “weaponization of the DOJ.”

The group is also opposed to further aid to Ukraine, potentially putting the House at odds with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz has publicly threatened to bring a motion to vacate against McCarthy. The motion would force a vote on whether McCarthy should continue on as speaker.

Goetz & McCarthy

The House returns from recess on Tuesday with the fast-approaching Sept. 30 deadline to pass a spending measure to keep the government open.

House Republican leaders are looking to pass a continuing resolution, or a short-term funding extension, to buy more time to satisfy details of a broader appropriations package.

Against the false narratives of mainstream corporate media and the Biden White House, Republicans have been investigating Hunter Biden’s business activities for years and the discoveries tend to prove President Donald J. Trump was right with his original allegations during the 2020 election.

Today, a federal prosecutor is pursuing criminal tax and firearms charges against the president’s son.

McCarthy said Republicans have turned up evidence of phone calls, money transfers and other activity that “paints a picture of a culture of corruption” in Biden’s family.

The impeachment inquiry will provide Republican lawmakers more power to get information from the Biden administration and other sources as they seek evidence of financial misconduct. They will begin their work without a vote from the full House, as was held before Trump’s first impeachment in 2019. Such a vote is not required, but can add legitimacy to the effort.

McCarthy has the support of enough of his narrow 222-212 majority for a vote on an inquiry to suceed. Only five dissenters could have blocked it.

Some more moderate members had begun to voice support for the idea, including Representative Nancy Mace and Mitt Romney.

Bidens

The House GOP conference is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday morning for key committee chairs to lay out their latest findings and the investigations status. There are several campaigns within the party to brief specific reluctant representatives , but chairs of the committees overseeing the inquiry will brief all rank-and-file lawmakers.

Romney, a clear RINO, said  “the fact that the White House has been singularly silent and has coddled Hunter Biden suggests that an inquiry is not inappropriate.”

    • I don’t believe McCarthy. He’s a dirty politician who just wants to get the Deep State budget approved. He stalls to get budget done. The nerve of him to use these tactics & even when he agrees to abide by Freedom Caucus demands, his fingers are crossed behind his back.

  1. It certainly took them long enough to bring this to a boil. Now, let the show begin, and how many acts will it take for Biden and Osama Bin Bama to weaponize everything they can? Good info to know, Jack and Dodie.
