Wild Black Bear Sightings Increasing in Texas

Recent sightings of black bears in the western parts of the Texas Hill Country could indicate the dry hot conditions in the Lone Star State are causing wildlife to venture into wider migration patterns.

From April through June, rare bear sightings have occurred near Carta Valley, Barksdale, Camp Wood, west of Ingram, south of Tarpley, Asherton, Alpine, Fort Davis and Mount Livermore.

On June 20th, a black bear was sighted swimming near the shoreline of Lake Amistad.

In the past year, bears have also been observed not only on the lake, but near Fort Stockton, north of Laredo, and in nearby regions.

While no one is sure how many bears currently live in Texas, experts agree that wildfires in Mexico, as well as drought conditions in other regions, have likely caused bears to migrate to new areas, including many parts of Texas.

Michael Janis, Trans-Pecos district leader for Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD), said dry conditions are likely sending bears looking for food. Breeding season also moved bears around.

The conservation efforts in bordering states over the last 20 years have also led to bears crossing back into Texas, especially during the summer mating season, according to TPWD.

Most of these animals wandering further into Texas are young, transient males in search of food and other bears. Males have much larger home ranges than females, and sub-adults can travel many miles to set up a new one.

To those not aware of bears, some people become quite alarmed when they hear about sightings. However, out of approximately 36,000 people in the U.S. who are bitten annually by wildlife, black bears rank 5th behind rodents, venomous snakes, skunks, and foxes respectively.

In West Texas where Big Bend National Park (BBNP) has had more than 6,592 bear/human encounters since 1950, only 2.5 percent of those encounters were classified as aggressive interactions. Most of those occurred when the bear made contact with property containing human food. There has never been a black bear attack recorded in BBNP.

When Border Patrol agents discovered a young black bear in a tree in north Laredo last July, it likely came from Mexico, noted Eric Garza, wildlife biologist with TPWD.

Not long after,  residents of SpinTech – Myers Ranch caught a strange image on a game camera. Maybe it was an overgrown wild hog, but most believe it was a bear:

TPWD is recording more road kills of black bears between Laredo and Zapata over the decade. Garza notes they were likely males dispersing from Mexico also.

“Zapata itself probably hasn’t seen any historic sightings simply because of the lake. It’s hard for them to swim across the lake, especially when it’s up,” said Garza. “This particular animal probably came across where the water is a lot lower. Not where it’s a lake but where it’s still a river.”

In a 2011 Starr County encounter, Garza notes the bear became habituated to residents, picking up scraps of food and eating out of trash cans. In those instances the bears need to be trapped and relocated away from humans, pet food and trash.

“The first thing we need to know is any conflicts between black bears and people can be avoided very, very easily,” Garza explained. “And the easiest way to avoid any conflicts is to make sure and not leave trash out for bears to get into, and really any wildlife to get into. Don’t leave pet food out. Bring that in and secure it. Don’t leave small livestock animals like rabbits or poultry.”

Late 2021 and early 2022, TPWD biologists were monitoring multiple black bear sightings near the North Double Diamond community south of Alpine.

It is believed the bear may displaying behavior typical of hyperphagia (excessive or extreme hunger). Reports suggested that the bear were attracted to and searching for easily accessible food sources (i.e. pet food, wildlife feeders, livestock feed, etc.).

In June, 2021, Big Bend National Park camper Valerie King took photos of a black bear in the Basin Campground:

TPWD indicates anyone encountering a black bear in a camping area should immediately deploy aversive conditioning by creating loud noises (shout, handclap, air horns, car alarm, sirens, or bang pots and pans) to startle the bear. Once the bear leaves, report the encounter to your District Biologist or TPWD Game Warden.

It is critical that the Department is able to monitor any on-going situations with full extent of known black bear encounters.

In the 1800s, black bear lived through every ecosystem in Texas but has long been hunted down and migrated away from settlements and eventually, cities. In 2009, a black bear that wandered onto a Mernard County (Central Texas) cattle ranch was the first ever confirmed in this century in that part of the state, according to Capt. Alan Teague, a TPWD game warden.

A Liberty County judge reputedly slaughtered 200 bears in the late 19th century, a pursuit that earned Lewis Hightower the handle “the Bear-Hunting Judge,” according to the Handbook of Texas Online.

“I practice law for recreation,” Hightower would say, “and hunt bear for a livin’.”

By the 1950s, black bears were eradicated from Texas, experts say.

The state made bear hunting illegal in 1983. That decade, they began crossing from northern Mexico into the southern reaches of West Texas.

For the past 20 years, a small population has bred there, mostly in the region’s rugged mountains. Today, some biologists believe there may be as many as 100.

But bears in Texas recently have been on the move, staging an unprecedented return to regions such as the Edwards Plateau, Piney Woods and South Texas Plains, according to Nathan Garner, another TPWD biologist.

The True Story of Smokey the Bear

Texas lists the black bear as threatened. The penalty for shooting one is a Class C misdemeanor and a fine of $500, plus a civil restitution of $11,907.50.

One of the most bizzare encounters was in 2017, when a black bear was sighted in a neighborhood between New Braunfels and Spring Branch. The alleged black bear, weighing as much as 350 lbs., ran in front of a vehicle in the early morning hours.

According to TPWD, there were 61 Black Bear sightings in 14 counties in 2018-2019. State mammologist Jonah Evans said sightings tend to increase in the fall because the bears are foraging food and trying “fatten up” before hibernating for the winter.

Transient bears from New Mexico are also occasionally reported in the Panhandle counties of Dallam, Hartley and Oldham, according to TPWD district leader Brad Simpson.

A study published in The Journal of Wildlife Management documents 63 people killed in 59 incidents by non-captive black bears between 1900-2009.

Of special note is this quote:

“We judged that the bear involved acted as a predator in 88 percent of fatal incidents. Adult or subadult male bears were involved in 92 percent of fatal predatory incidents, reflecting biological and behavioral differences between male and female bears. That most fatal black bear attacks were predatory and were carried out by one bear shows that females with young are not the most dangerous black bears.”

🔹Black bears mate during the months of June and July. This might account for some of the sightings in the Texas Hill Country, as bears travel to find a mate during the summer months.

🔹State biologists believe that female black bears in Texas hibernate while males do not.

🔹The young are born in January or February, while the mother is “hibernating.” She normally gives birth to two-to-three cubs every two years.

LOUISIANA MIGRATION

🔹Louisiana Black Bear sightings have been increasing in recent years so it’s possible they are making a comeback in Eastern Texas too.

🔹Louisiana is home to the Louisiana Black Bear, a subspecies of of the American Black Bear. There’s an estimated 750-1000 bears living in the state, but they can also be found in the neighboring states of Texas, Mississippi, and possibly even Southern Arkansas.

🔹Aside from the Louisiana Bear, both the Mexican Black Bear and the New Mexico Black Bear are found in western Texas in low numbers and are also on the state endangered species list.

NEW MEXICO MIGRATION

🔹The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish estimates that there are approximately 5,000-6,000 Black Bears living in all 14.6 million forested acres of New Mexico. There have been strict hunting regulations in place since 1927 in the state to help control the population of Black Bears in the state.

🔹In the early 20th century Grizzly Bears were common in the state, but now only the American Black Bear remain. They are also the state animal of New Mexico.

ARKANSAS MIGRATION

🔹Black Bears in Arkansas thrive in three places; the Ozark Highlands area, the Ouachita National Forest, and the lower White River basin. Pre-settlement there was thought to be over 50,000 bears in Arkansas, but dwindled down to just 50 bears in the 1930s. Thanks to conservation efforts and the importation of Black Bears from other areas, Arkansas is believed to have over 5,000 Black Bears now.

CAN INJURE WHEN PROVOKED

“The Black Bear is a stocky, large animal, one of the largest mammals in North America. Adults reach a length of 5 to 6 feet, height at the shoulder of 2 to 3 feet, and weigh 200-300 pounds,” notes information from Texas Park and Wildlife Department. “Although called a ‘black’ bear, colors can range from black to the occasional cinnamon brown. Front claws are generally longer than hind claws. The fur is long and coarse. Although appealing and generally harmless, Black Bears can injure humans when provoked and should be treated with caution.”

At least two subspecies of Black Bear are thought to occur in Texas: the Mexican Black Bear and the New Mexico Black Bear. Both are found in West Texas in desert scrub or woodland habitats within scattered mountain ranges, predominantly the Chisos and Guadalupe Mountains. Both subspecies are state-listed as endangered in Texas.

Colleen Olfenbuttel, the Wildlife Commission’s black bear and furbearer biologist, offers some advice about how to co-exist with black bears.

“Most bears that wander into a residential area will quickly retreat to their natural habitat, particularly if no food source is around,” Olfenbuttel said. “Bears have adapted to living near people; now it’s up to us to adapt to living near bears.”

BearWise has six Basics the public can use to prevent potential conflicts and live responsibly with bears:

• Never feed or approach a bear. Bears will defend themselves if a person gets too close, so don’t risk your safety and theirs.

• Secure food, garbage and recycling. Place trash outside as late as possible on the morning of trash pick-up — not the night before.

• Remove bird feeders when bears are active. Birdseed, other grains and hummingbird feeders have high calorie content making them very attractive to bears.

• Never leave pet food outdoors.

• Clean and store grills.

• Alert neighbors to bear activity.

“While these young bears (usually May-August), typically males, may appear to be wandering aimlessly around, they are not necessarily lost,” Olfenbuttel said. “Most are simply exploring their new surroundings and will move on, particularly if they are left alone and there is no food around.”

Unlike brown bears, black bears are omnivorous creatures that rarely pose a threat to humans, pets, or livestock. Like any large mammal, however, humans must take steps to be aware and coexist with black bears.

Black bears diet is very much like a raccoon’s.

🔹Up to 80 percent of their diet is plant matter, and they often scavenge the rest from carcasses of dead animals.

🔹In many circumstances, they will hunt for insects and worms for the “meat based” part of their diet.

🔹They have been known to kill larger mammals and even livestock. This is occurs mostly during late spring and early summer, when bears become active after hibernating, and juveniles “leave home.” This is when food requirements are high, and bears will find the most nutritious food they can.

🔹If there is a lack of fruits, berries, and other plant matter, they may feed on other animals.

Signs of black bears

If you suspect bears in your area, pay careful attention to signs such as, tracks, scat, and territorial markings on trees. Although you may not see the animal, the evidence of their presence is usually clear. Take pictures of suspected bear sign using a ruler or other standard item for scale and send them to your local biologist for interpretation.

Bear tracks stand out and are unlike any other you might encounter. Bears use their teeth and claws to mark trees or other surfaces to mark territory.

BEAR ENCOUNTERS

If you encounter a bear, TPWD offers this advice:

  • If a bear regularly visits your deer stand, scare it with rocks, a slingshot or air horn.
  • If you encounter a bear at close range, talk in a calm manner while backing away slowly. Do not make direct eye contact
  • Do not run. Running can trigger a bear’s chase instinct.
  • Stand your ground and raise your arms if a bear approaches you, making yourself appear larger. Yell at the bear to scare it off.
  • Fight back aggressively with anything available if attacked. Let bears know that you are not an easy prey. Do not play dead.

List of George Soros Owned District Attorneys

Chances are, if you live in any large city in America, George Soros owns your District Attorney. This is why DAs obediently satisfy their Sugar Daddy Soros’ plan to keep liberal demonstrators, drug gang members, Jussie Smollett type celebrities, and local corrupt politicians out of jail.

A growing trail of violent crime is sweeping across America with an ample percentage coming from illegal aliens and invaders. However, countless murders, robberies, assaults and property destruction are the result of “woke” district attorneys who run their offices with little to no accountability, limited prosecutorial experience, a propensity for crime, and a trend of unfairly prosecuting political adversaries.

At the state level, far-left radical beneficiaries of the George Soros “Secretary of State Project,” the American non-profit, progressive 527 political action committee, focused on electing “reform-minded progressive” Secretaries of State in battleground states. These offices typically oversee the election process in their state–thus, the 2020 election fiasco. The Project is funded by Soros and members of the Democracy Alliance.

The original intent in 2006 was to protect Obama by having control of secretary of state offices in five key states — Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico and Ohio. The initiative expanded and is a major reason President Trump is not in the White House today.

Among some of the Secretary of State offices who benefited by this Soros group are Michigan’s Jocelyn BensonColorado’s Jenna Griswold, Arizona’s Katie Hobbs, and Pennsylvania’s Katherine Bookvar.

On the local level, violent crimes and election fraud against Americans continue to surge due to district attorneys and state attorneys funded by Soros and his affiliated foundations. Cities that have been specifically targeted by this progressive approach include Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, St. Louis, New York, Baltimore, Albuquerque, Orlando, and more.

Some of the counties include Contra Coasta, California; Orange and Osceola, Florida; Ulster, New York; Bexar, Dallas, Fort Bend and Harris, Texas; Loudain and Northfolk, Virginia.

Since 2016, when Soros first began to back the campaigns of district attorneys there has been some $30 million in funding tracked from Soros through a personal network of political action committees (PACs) formed specifically to back radical, left-wing DA candidates.

George Soros District Attorneys, Commonwealth Attorneys and Circuit Attorneys

Here is list by state and jurisdiction of every DA identified by the Capital Research Center (CRC) as receiving Soros funding, and some notable details about each. Some of the commentary comes from CRC observations.

California

Diana Becton—Contra Costa County, California. Backed by $275,000 from Soros in 2018, Becton became the first woman and first African American elected to serve as DA for Contra Costa County. She is also one of the first in the position to have zero prior experience as a prosecutor. During Becton’s first years in office four Contra Costa cities made the list of the top 100 most dangerous cities in California in 2018, and both violent crime and property crime increased by several percent during 2019.

George Gascon—Los Angeles County, California. Soros has spent a combined $6 million on California DA races, much of it wasted on failed candidates, but almost half was spent on the successful campaign of George Gascon for Los Angles DA. Soros was the largest spender in the race, and Gascon won easily.

Since the election, his implementation of left-wing policies led to a crime wave that has become the stuff of legend. Homicide rates soaredorganized shoplifting sprees ravaged the city, trains were stopped and ransacked by mobs of looters. Under Gascon’s watch the city of Los Angles has rapidly become a national disgrace.

Florida

Monique Worrell—Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola County), Florida. Monique Worrell is the second Soros candidate to become state attorney for Orange and Osceola County. Her predecessor, Aramis Ayala, was a “long-shot candidate” elected in 2016 with the help of more than $1.3 million in spending by the Florida Safety and Justice PAC. Ayala immediately earned a reputation for her activist approach, which led to her removal from multiple high-profile murder cases by two different Republican governors. During Ayala’s tenure, violent crime increased dramatically, with murders increasing by 26 percent during 2020.

After Ayala left office to run for Congress, Worrell filled her shoes, with $1 million from Soros’s Democracy PAC surging into the race at the last minute to help her claim victory against her moderate opponent in 2020.

Georgia

Darius Pattillo—Henry County, Georgia. Receiving just under $150,000 from Soros through the Georgia Safety and Justice PAC, Patello was elected in 2016 and has remained the most unremarkable Soros-backed DA elected to date. In fact, Soros’s funding of Patello nearly went unreported, possibly because Patello does not seem to share the radical views of his fellow Soros DAs.

Illinois

Kim Foxx—Cook County (Chicago), Illinois. Probably the most famous Soros-backed DA, Foxx was boosted into office with the help of $2 million in Soros cash. Foxx has most recently been in the news for potential ethics violations in her 2019 decision to drop charges against Jussie Smollet for his infamous hate crime hoax. (Smollett was recently convicted on the same charges.) Foxx has also made headlines for presiding over Chicago’s largest spike in homicides in more than 30 years while her office dropped charges against 30 percent of felony defendants during 2020.

Louisiana

James Stewart—Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Probably the least well-known and least radical Soros-funded DA, James Stewart was elected as the DA of Caddo Parish, Louisiana, in 2015 with the help of more than $930,000 in funding from Soros. Stewart has enacted few radical reforms since his election, potentially a disappointing result for Soros. His opponents at the time worried that his progressive views on criminal justice would be “detrimental to the safety of Caddo Parish.”

Mississippi

Scott Colom—Circuit Court District Sixteen, Mississippi. Another of the lesser-known Soros-funded Das, Colom quietly received over $926,000 in funding from Soros to help unseat a long-time incumbent in 2015. Colom oversees  District 16 in Mississippi, which includes Lowndes, Oktibbeha, Clay, and Noxubee Counties. Colom was recently recommended by Rep. Bernie Thompson (D-MS) for a position as a judge for the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Mississippi. Meanwhile, violent crime, specifically gun violence, remains a serious and growing problem for cities and counties in the 16th Circuit, a problem that Colom has been accused of doing little to combat.

Jody Owens—Hinds County, Mississippi. Aided by a $500,000 contribution from Soros’s Mississippi Justice and Public Safety PAC, Owens was elected in 2019 after running on a platform that promised reform and “alternatives to incarceration.” Owens brought controversy with him to the DA’s office. In 2019, Owens was accused of sexually harassing his female colleagues while working at the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization with a well-documented proclivity for enabling and ignoring sexual harassment in the workplace.

Owens has also recently brought highly questionable murder charges against two police officers. The charges were dismissed with prejudice for lack of evidence that officers “caused any injury” to the alleged victim. Under Owens, Jackson has become one of the deadliest cities in the nation, and in 2021 the city saw over 150 homicides (98 murders per 100,000 residents), an all-time high.

Missouri

Kim Gardner—St. Louis, Missouri. One of the most famous and polarizing Soros-backed DAs, Kim Gardner has served as the circuit attorney of crime-ridden St. Louis since 2017 and has repeatedly used her office to prosecute conservatives while allowing criminals to walk free.

Popular meme

In 2018, Gardner launched a bogus criminal investigation against Missouri’s Republican governor, which led to a special investigation into her office that found probable cause that Gardner engaged in professional misconduct by hiring a private investigator who has since been charged with perjury and evidence tampering. Gardner was also the lead attorney in the absurd prosecution of Mark McCloskey, but was removed from the case by a judge who wrote “the Circuit Attorney’s conduct raises the appearance that she initiated a criminal prosecution for political purposes.”

Gardner was caught lying about police officers who pulled her over for driving without headlights at night, has admitted to campaign finance violations, and has badly mishandled murder cases. The year after Gardner’s election, St. Louis became the murder capital of the nation, but this did not stop Soros from contributing $116,000 to aid her reelection in 2020. In early 2021, St. Louis became one of the deadliest cities in the world.

New Mexico

Raul Torrez—Bernalillo County (Albuquerque), New Mexico. Although his ties to Soros are less well known and his ideas are slightly less radical, Albuquerque’s DA also got his start from $107,000 in Soros cash that boosted his unopposed campaign in 2016. As of mid-November, Albuquerque had experienced 102 homicides in 2021, the highest number ever recorded, compared to the 67 reported at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, Torrez is busy campaigning for New Mexico Attorney General. Soros’s money is likely to make an appearance in that upcoming race as well.

New York

Alvin Bragg—Manhattan, New York. One of Soros’s newest DA’s, Bragg was elected in 2021 as the DA of Manhattan, largely thanks to approximately $1.1 million given by Soros that year to groups supporting Bragg. Even though Bragg has barely been in office, his tenure is already shaping up as a disaster. After Bragg released a memo stating that his office would not be seeking prison sentences for crimes such as armed robbery, drug dealing, and burglary, more than nine prosecutors in Manhattan quit. Interestingly, one area where Bragg is not expected to be overly lenient is an investigation into President Donald Trump’s business practices, which Bragg conveniently took over after assuming office.

David Clegg—Ulster County, New York. Soros cash to the tune of at least $184,000 was used to push Ulster County DA David Clegg across the finish line in his 2019 election, but it was also the source of a major controversy at the time. In an embarrassing guffaw, the New York Justice and Public Safety PAC paid for mailers that featured Clegg shaking hands with a prominent criminal and left-wing activist. Under Clegg, gun crimes and shootings have surged dramatically, and high profile cases have been badly mishandled, including a murder case in which the suspect was released because Clegg’s office failed to file an indictment on time.

Pennsylvania

Larry Krasner—Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Among the most famous Soros-backed DAs, Krasner has been supported by more than $2 million from Soros funneled through the Pennsylvania Justice and Public Safety PAC and the Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety PAC. Krasner was reelected in 2021 with the help of a $259,000 contribution from Soros. Under Krasner’s watch, crime rates have soared, and in 2021, Philadelphia became the murder capital of the United States with the highest per capita homicide rate of the country’s 10 largest cities.

Jack Stollsteimer—Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Lesser known but also well financed by Soros, Stollsteimer was the first Democratic DA ever elected in Delaware County, boosted by roughly $100,000 in ads paid for by Soros during 2019. While still undoubtedly a progressive, Stollsteimer is much less radical than Krasner and has not been openly hostile to police. He did, however, recently feud with police over the graphic details of a report on a rape in broad daylight on a train with many witnesses, none of whom tried to intervene. During Stollsteimer’s first year in office, homicides in Delaware County increased 127 percent, though many attribute this to the county’s proximity to Philadelphia.

Texas

Joe Gonzalez—Bexar County (San Antonio), Texas. George Soros has even dared to mess with Texas. Joe Gonzalez is one of Soros’s favorite DAs, receiving nearly $1 million in backing from the billionaire during his 2018 campaign, upsetting incumbent Democrat Nico LaHood in the primary. Just as in Dallas, violent crime reportedly increased by 15 percent in San Antonio under Gonzalez, while convictions dropped by 17 percent.

John Creuzot—Dallas County, Texas. Backed by an estimated $236,000 from Soros, Creuzot became the DA of Dallas County in 2018 and immediately moved forward with a plethora of radical reform policies, including decriminalizing theft under $750, criminal trespass, and drug possession. During his first year in office crime reportedly increased by 15 percent while total convictions dropped by 30 percent. Most recently, Creuzot failed to get a conviction in straightforward case against Billy Chemirmir, a Kenyan immigrant charged with murdering and robbing 18 elderly women in assisted living facilities. He was found with his alleged victims’ personal papers and jewelry in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Popular political cartoon

Brian Middleton—Fort Bend County, Texas. Although it went unnoticed and unreported by the media, Soros played a major role in the 2019 campaign of Fort Bend County DA Brian Middleton, spending nearly $200,000 on advertising in support of his campaign. Middleton has been extremely moderate as far as Soros-backed candidates go, and as a result Fort Bend County has not seen a dramatic spike in crime.

Kim Ogg—Harris County (Houston), Texas. In 2016, Kim Ogg became the state’s first Soros-backed DA after Soros spent more than $600,000 on the race. As one of the first reform DA’s backed by Soros, Ogg is also one of the most moderate. She has stopped prosecuting marijuana offenses, but often seeks high cash bail, causing her to be ostracized by many progressives and apparently Soros.

José Garza—Travis County (Austin), Texas. In 2020, Garza was elected as Austin’s DA with the aid of more than $400,000 in ads paid for by the Texas Justice and Public Safety PAC, one of Soros’s private PACs that has received roughly $3.6 million from the billionaire since its creation in 2018. Since assuming office, Garza has developed a reputation for letting violent offenders go free on little to no bail.

In 2020, Garza released hundreds of inmates from jail over COVID-19 protocols, even though only six people in Austin at the time were known to have COVID-19. In 2021, Garza released a man with eight prior felony convictions after he was caught toting a gun in a meth-fueled car chase with police. After his release with an ankle monitor, the man allegedly went on a crime spree committing 10 armed robberies. Since Garza was elected, police budgets have been slashed, and Austin has experienced skyrocketing crime rates and a record number of homicides.

Virginia

Parisa Dehghani-Tafti—Arlington County and City of Falls Church, Virginia. Backed by over $600,000 from the Justice and Public Safety PAC, one of George Soros’s many personal PACs, Dehghani-Tafti won her 2019 election by toppling a moderate Democratic incumbent and has been a center of controversy ever since. Dehghani-Tafti, along with several other Soros-backed DAs in Virginia, is facing a recall petition after crimes like felony aggravated assault rose 40 percent during her first year in office.

Steve Descano—Fairfax County, Virginia. Steve Descano, who is also facing a recall petition, was elected in 2019 and has endorsed a progressive platform typical of the left-wing DA faction. Descano has made it his office’s official policy not to prosecute more than 20 different crimes including shoplifting for goods under $1,000, prostitution, and indecent exposure. Descano’s initial campaign benefitted from approximately $600,000 from Soros.

Buta Biberaj—Loudoun County, Virginia. As Loudoun County District Attorney, Buta Biberaj has championed an anti-incarceration approach to the job, but made headlines for personally seeking jail time for Scott Smith, a father who was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct at a Loudoun County School Board meeting while protesting the School Board’s cover-up of his 14-year-old daughter’s rape by a transgender boy in a school bathroom. Smith’s defense attorneys reported that it was “completely unheard of” for a DA to personally handle a misdemeanor, much less to pursue jail time, court-ordered anger management, and a hefty fine. Biberaj’s campaign in 2019 was boosted by over $650,000 in Soros cash, and she is now facing a recall petition.

Ramin Fatehi—Norfolk County, Virginia. One of the latest additions to Soros’s collection of rogue prosecutors, Ramin Fatehi was one of very few Democrats to win a Virginia election in 2021, largely thanks to about $220,000 in funding from Soros. Fatehi has yet to make a name for himself as DA, but he ran on the typical progressive platform of promising to abolish cash bail and decriminalize marijuana possession.

Using the same playbook successfully followed in Hungary, Greece, Britain, and a dozen other countries, Soros-funded groups were behind anti-Trump mobs that blocked streets, set fires, injured police officers, and destroyed property the day after his 2017 national election. As expected, they turned up the volume in 2020.

Fantasies of Being a God

An alarming trait of George Soros comes from many interviews over the years when he admitted he has a fascination and fantasy of being “a god.”

“I admit that I have always harbored an exaggerated view of self-importance — to put it bluntly, I fancied myself as some kind of god,” he wrote as far back as 1987.

“It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of god, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out,” he revealed to The Independent in 1993.

On British television he bragged, “Next to my fantasies about being God, I also have very strong fantasies of being mad.”

In 2002, Soros was convicted by a French court of insider trading, but his political power became so great it didn’t matter. His mode of operation was to buy out judges, prosecutors and local leaders. The same greed successfully worked on national politicians and administrations too.

Soros and his Open Society Foundations (OSF) is a major funder  illegal immigration into Europe and now America.

Leaked documents from Soros’ OSF show that the organization’s goal behind funding the Black Lives Matter movement is ultimately to federalize America’s police forces.

A Wikileaks release revealed that Soros’ far-left group, “Demos,” main goal is to ensure “the complete globalization of America’s culture in order to balkanize and effectively destroy the very nature of what it means to be an American.

This is by the same playbook Soros groups have used very effectively throughout Europe.

This goal includes the implementation of two specific United Nation agendas to “eradicate National sovereignty to the United Nations in favor of a globally controlled centralized government, which includes the diaphanous agenda of climate change.”

In his own words, documented on video, Soros said his paid groups are “transforming the public narrative” to elevate the values of community and racial equity, which is really just a “gentler way of alluding to the elimination of US free speech and America’s individual 1st amendment rights, a thing that has already been augmented in Europe.”

In the Soros funded Demos document is the playbook being used by liberal governors and mayors throughout America. It entitled “Police Reform: How to Take Advantage of the Crisis of the Moment and Drive Long-Term Institutional Change in Police-Community Practice.”

Soros is so powerful that, through then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, United States taxpayers spent $9 millions on the Soros-backed campaign to take over Albania politics in 2016.

Documents secured by the political watchdog Judicial Watch, using the American Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), revealed American funds were into a ‘Justice for All’ campaign to reform the judicial system in Albania in 2016. The campaign was run by Soros’s East West Management Institute.

“The Obama administration quietly spent at least $9 million in US taxpayers’ dollars in direct collusion with left-wing billionaire George Soros’s backing of a socialist government in Albania,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton stated.

Soros is a billionaire and “shouldn’t be receiving taxpayer support to advance his radical left agenda to undermine freedom here at home and abroad,” Fitton added.

Going Woke With Grooming

The same game plan is in action as used in Greece a decade ago, London eight years ago and Bahrain three years ago. Soros’ “non-profit” American groups promote abortion, euthanasia, overpopulation, atheism,  homosexuality, same-sex marriage,  feminism, and transgenderism.

In 2019, using his now tried and truly perfected playbook, game plans mean his owned politician slaves use taxpayer money to “destabilize” countries as they did in 2019 with the democratic government of the Balkan nation of Macedonia, north of Greece.

“The cash flows through the State Department and the famously corrupt U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID), which is charged with providing global economic, development and humanitarian assistance,” Judical Watch reported.

The group obtained FOIA records revealing President Obama’s U.S. ambassador to Macedonia, Jess L. Baily, “has worked behind the scenes with Soros’ Open Society Foundation to funnel large sums of American dollars for the cause.”

During Obama’s presidency, Judicial Watch proved the White House Administration secured pipelines through the southern border to get more illegal immigrants into the U.S.

In one instance, per the Soros plan, immigrants were being smuggled in from Somalia and other African nations.

Testimony and records reveal Homeland Security officials were busing them into strategic locations across the country to deliberately change vulnerable populations. Read that as taxpayer monies funding future voters for Soros funded causes.

Democracy Alliance has steered more than $500 million in funding to progressive organizations and infrastructure since its founding in 2005.

Each member secretly contributes at least $200,000 annually to Soros groups like Media Matters for America, American Civil Liberties Union, and the Center for Popular Democracy, along with dozens of other left-wing organizations.

Soros’s lobbying group, the Open Society Policy Center, hosted a session called “After Kavanaugh,” to strategies for future judicial nomination fights. Pelosi and mainstream media puppets are actively taking orders and preparing propaganda for the upcoming Supreme Court vacancy due to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s death.

“The fight over the Kavanaugh nomination saw unprecedented grassroots activity to defeat an unpopular and damaged nominee,” the leaked Soros agenda explains. “But as we now know, it was insufficient. With a 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court, how should we prepare for the next vacancy, and what will be needed to bring a similar sense of urgency to the lower federal courts and the state courts?”

Democrats, Biden Border Crisis Designed to Destroy US National Security

Crime across the United States continues to soar as Joe Biden acts like the COVID-19 virus is smart enough to realize when to turn itself off at the southern border or on in an airplane.

The Biden Border Crisis is flagrantly designed to go against the first duty of a real American president–the national security of the United States.

🔹Border Agents apprehended almost one quarter of a million (221,303) illegal aliens in the month of March, 2022.

🔹This is a 28% increase from the 173,277 illegals apprehended in March 2021. Biden, who is in the White House (when he is not in Delaware) due to massive election and voting fraud, has yet to visit the Border.

🔹Because of President Donald J. Trump’s historical immigration policies, by March 2020 the number of Border apprehensions was 34,460.

Following the Barack Obama-George Soros plan, puppet Biden, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and the CDC  intend to end Title 42 at the border.

Popular memes

Former acting ICE director Tom Homan notes the hypocrisy from Biden and Mayorkas who continuously criticize the Trump administration for “inhumane methods” of border security with little regard for America’s health and safety. Homan revealed that more migrants have died because of Biden’s policies and neglect. He cites the opioid crisis and the record numbers in the amounts of fentanyl coming across the border.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott caused a stir within liberal media and the Biden Administration last week by:

🔹beginning the busing of illegal immigrants caught in Texas to Washington DC,

🔹implementing the inspection of every single commercial vehicle at ports of entry to combat human trafficking and drug cartels.

🔹worked with Arizona, California, and New Mexico to sign agreements  with Abbott to coordinate on illegal migration.

These four border states expect massive waves of migrants from around the world because of Biden’s rejection of Title 42 in May, 2022. Border Agents, state troopers and other law enforcement will be hit hard at ports of entry, throughout the Rio Grande, deserts and in rural border areas.

“They’re overwhelmed,” stated John Katko (R-NY), who is the ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee. “They’re going to lose complete operational control of the border, if and when that surge happens.”

“Everyone, including Homeland Secretary Mayorkas, understands that a surge is coming after Title 42 is gone,” Katko revealed.

The Biden Administration knows there are too few local or state resources–funds and law enforcement-to maintain border security.

There are not enough resources, either in personnel or funds, for law enforcement to handle the Biden border crisis. Border towns and cities are without enough resources to manage the situation.

Cartels, aware of the booming opportunities handed to them by the destructive forces within the US government, are able to greatly increase human and illegal drug trafficking. Biden has purposefully created a humanitarian crisis.

The Biden Border Crisis is flagrantly designed to go against the first duty of a real American president–the national security of the United States.

The True Story of Fire Fighting Smokey Bear

He is not Smokey ‘The’ Bear and Other Fun Facts

The start of World War II meant that many firefighters and other able-bodied men were deployed, leaving communities to manage wildfires themselves. .

The head of the Forest Service at that time, Lyle F. Watts, decided to attack the wildfire problem by educating the public about their role in fire prevention. Watts invited the Ad Council to join the Forest Service in this new ad campaign.Watts and team soon realized that they needed a symbol or character to represent their fire prevention campaign. A forest animal would be ideal.

The Disney Studios offered one of their characters to be the “face” of the fire prevention plan. The movie, Bambi, enjoyed widespread popularity at the time, so the deer Bambi represented the original ad campaign—but Disney’s licensing contract lasted just one year.

Seeing an overwhelmingly successful first year, Watts and his team chose a bear to replace Bambi.

Two decades before, on a July morning in 1922, a case of magnesium powder exploded in a warehouse in New York’s Greenwich Village. The resulting fire was devasting and claimed the life of a heroic firefighter named “Smokey” Joe Martin.

On August 9, 1944, the first Smokey Bear poster appeared. The bear was named in honor of “Smokey” Joe, and his first piece of public service artwork depicted the animal in his iconic hat, dousing a fire with a bucket of water.

A historic Smokey the Bear poster

Artist Albert Staehle painted this first Smokey Bear poster.

The ‘50s and ‘60s brought Smokey’s “ABC” campaign. This was a national push to educate the public about wildfire prevention in three easy steps, and it was broadcast to American homes through radio and TV spots.

Smokey 2

It wasn’t long before more posters of Smokey appeared. The bear gained widespread popularity. Soon Smokey Bear was featured on everything from comic books to toys. He was an undisputed success.

A real Smokey Bear

In 1950, a wildfire burned in New Mexico’s Capitan Mountains. Firefighters there found a young bear cub clinging to a tree branch. Firefighters presumed the cub climbed the tree to escape the raging fire. The little bear was alive, but severely burned. Firefighters rescued the cub and aptly named him Smokey.

News of a real Smokey Bear soon spread across the country. When Smokey had sufficiently recovered from his ordeal, he was moved to the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., where he continued to play a role in educating people about fire prevention.

To handle all of his fan mail–up to 13,000 letters a week–the U.S. Postal Service set up his own personal zip code, 20252, for his area in the zoo. The zip code was decommissioned in 1994, but fortunately brought back in honor of Smokey’s 70th birthday.

When the real Smokey Bear died, his body was taken back to the Capitan Mountains for burial in the State Historical Park.

Smokey carried his “only you can prevent forest fires” message into the early 2000s and placed the responsibility on us all to be careful around the campfire. Additionally, the shift in the use of “forest fires” to “wildfires” in Smokey’s messaging is present, as well.

Today, new Public Service Announcements to educate the public on different ways that wildfires are caused, including hot coals, dragging chains, and burning debris. Smokey’s wildfire prevention message was already resonating with audiences—now, they just needed actionable steps to take.

Today’s Smokey Bear

Other Smokey Bear facts

  • The Smokey Bear campaign is the longest-running Public Service Advertisement campaign in U.S. history.
  • In 1953, the Ideal Toy Company made a Smokey Bear doll. Included with the doll was a card that when mailed back gave children an official “Junior Forest Ranger” identification card. Within two years, over half a million kids had applied and received the unofficial honor.

  • Since its development in the 1940s, it’s estimated that the Smokey Bear ad campaign has reduced the number of acres lost to wildfires by 15.6 million annually.
  • Smokey does not have a middle name. (It’s Smokey Bear. Not Smokey “The” Bear.) A song about the forest icon added “The” to his name in order to make the lyrics and melody sync better.

Wisdom of the Real American Cowgirl

Being a cowgirl goes beyond riding a horse and working with cattle.

Growing up in Texas, we know that a cowgirl is a woman who is strong, confident, and not afraid of a hard day’s work. She is polite, sharing kindness with all the folks around her, and she doesn’t shy away from getting dirt under her fingernails. Each cowgirl is an inspiration to us all.

Over the years, many cowgirls and cowboys have passed down their wisdom and have provided encouragement to others. Dodie and I graduated from McCollum High School where the mascot is the Cowboys.

Today, we live near Bandera, the Cowboy Capitol of the World, and see the true Texas Hill Country spirit of the hearts and souls here. These photos and quotes are here to support and empower all of us and help build confidence and strength in these times of reassurance.

Sometimes we just need to think about our attitude and try approaching a situation differently rather than let something or someone ruin a whole day.

A gentle reminder that though it may be really hard, being kind to everyone is the right thing to do, even if they are not kind to you.

There are always going to be difficult times and being able to weather the storms are only going to make you a stronger person.

Sometimes you must take life by the reins if you want to chase your dreams and ambitions. A reminder: we have to get outside of our comfort zone to get what we truly want.

The values associated with cowgirls are ones of kindness, respect, and love. People can often lose sight of those values when it comes to personal gain and it is important to never lose sight of those beliefs.

Take each day with a good attitude and appreciate what you have, but don’t let that stop you from working towards your goals.

Leftist New Mexico Governor Accused of $200 Million Fraud

Accuser: “Forced to resign when I had to choose between keeping my job and committing crimes.”

Grisham is being sued.

Zach DeGriego, Spaceport America’s former Chief Financial Officer, filed a civil complaint last week in First Judicial District Court against Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham regarding alleged fraud of $200 million.

“I’ve never spoken about this publicly until now, but the continued retaliation from New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and her staff has forced me to make this statement to set the record straight,” DeGriego said in a video statement.

“Many of you know I was the former chief financial officer of Spaceport America in New Mexico. I left that position after making multiple whistleblower complaints. I was forced to resign when I had to choose between keeping my job and committing crimes. After the governor and her staff got rid of me they have done everything in their power to retaliate against me and destroy my life to keep me silent.”

“At the same time, they proceeded to violate multiple federal laws. Today, I have filed a lawsuit against the State of New Mexico for violations of the New Mexico whistleblower protection act and malfeasance by the state auditor.”

DeGriego

“The complaint names 21 individuals who participated in a conspiracy including leaders at the highest levels of state government including Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, Attorney General Hector Balderas, New Mexico State Auditor Brian Colón, Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Alicia Keyes, and current managers at Spaceport America.”

New Mexico Spaceport Authority, an agency of the State of New Mexico, is the operator of Spaceport America. It is the first purpose-built commercial spaceport in the world. The FAA-licensed launch complex is situated on 18,000 acres adjacent to the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range.

News reports surfaced this week alleged:

🔹Grisham political appointee, Alicia Keyes, encouraged DeGriego (who worked for Spaceport American from 2015 to 2020) to falsify an economic impact study.

🔹Keyes mishandled a bond refinancing for the purpose of defrauding the state.

🔹When DeGriego attempted to report the wrongdoing, he claimed, he was threatened with investigations and a firing.

“The complaint provides evidence of extortion, bribery, illegal drug use, sex discrimination, procurement fraud, securities fraud, and multiple violations of federal law. The complaint describes how after I left, the defendants proceeded to commit over $200 million in fraud when they issued bonds under false pretenses with disclosure documents containing fraudulent information.”

🔹DeGriego resigned from his position at the company in June 2020, shortly after he filed a complaint alleging that Spaceport America Executive Director Daniel Hicks violated several state laws.

🔹In the lawsuit, DeGriego adds that Hicks attempted to break into his email account and accessed emails DeGriego sent to Keyes about Hicks’ involvement in alleged procurement fraud.

In 2020, Hicks was placed on administrative leave in June, and fired in October following an investigation.

Spaceport Authority employees told investigators that Hicks repeatedly referred to the taxpayer-funded New Mexico Spaceport Authority as “my agency” and the budget as “my money.”

Hicks

The review found that Hicks routinely ignored statutes and regulations as he awarded contracts, hired friends for key positions, and traveled around the nation to conferences, meetings and other events. Specifically, the report claims that Hicks:

  • spent more than $60,000 on travel after he was named to run the spaceport in November 2016;
  • failed to get travel authorization from the governor’s office for 33 separate trips that cost $32,404;
  • overspent on hotels, airfares and other travel expenses;
  • submitted falsified and backdated travel documentation;
  • spent $3,100 traveling around the country for a week to attend events marking 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing without any apparent benefit to the spaceport;
  • spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on travel and other expenses attempting to attract orbital launch services even though the spaceport could not host them for safety reasons;
  • gave himself a substantial raise that had never been approved by the Spaceport Authority’s Board of Directors;
  • considered the Board of Directors a “nuisance” to which he had no obligation to provide contracts or requests for proposals for review;
  • hired friends without going through the required competitive process; and,
  • inappropriately accessed DeGriego’s email after the complaint was filed.

New Mexico Redistricts to Favor Socialist Democrats

New Mexico is following California’s lead in redistricting to solidify more Democrat power in the state.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) signed the state’s new congressional map into law on Dec. 17. The map will take effect for New Mexico’s 2022 elections.

The New Mexico Republican Party’s Steve Pearce criticized the map, saying: “these maps are far from fair representation, and they are a disservice to constituents. The real losers are the rural voices of New Mexico, conservative Democrats, Republicans, and independents.”

In 2020, New Mexico led the nation in teen suicides due to the Democratic stance to not open schools during the pandemic.

In April of that year, Gov. Lujan Grisham issued press release informing citizens they would be the second state to close businesses: “The only way for us to stop the spread of this virus is for New Mexicans to stop interacting with each other.”

“New Mexicans must be crystal-clear on this point: Right now, every time you leave your house, you are putting yourself, your family and your community at risk,” she said. “Only by distancing from one another, by remaining home except for essential or emergency travel, can we limit the spread of this virus to the point that it does not overwhelm New Mexico.”

The state Senate approved the redistricting plan 25-15 on Dec. 10, and the state House of Representatives approved it 44-24 on Dec. 11. Both votes were largely along party lines—all Democrats voted in favor and 38 Republicans and one Democrat voted against. The Santa Fe New Mexican’s Robert Nott wrote that the proposal “gives Democrats a comfortable lead in all three congressional districts.”

New Mexico is the 20th state to complete congressional redistricting after the 2020 census. By this date after the 2010 census, 28 states had completed drawing new congressional district boundaries.

State Senate Majority Leader Peter Wirth (D) propagandized, “The new congressional map creates districts where we have to work together — rural and urban, north and south, and Democrats, Republicans and independents. That is a good thing.”

All Time High: 80% of Democrats Agree That Illegal Aliens Skipping Court Hearings Is a Serious Problem

Biden’s Incompetence on Border Has Caused Democrats to Understand the Gravity of Issue

More bad news for current White House Resident Joe Biden and the failing Democrats as higher rates of Americans (of most political persuasions) agree that illegal aliens released into the United States causes serious problems and dangers when they do not appear at their court hearings.

Government busing ‘immigrants’ throughout the U.S.

A new Scott Rasmussen national survey found that when respondents were informed that approximately 10% of “asylum seekers” were released into society prematurely and do not appear for subsequent court hearings, 84% of Americans now consider that to be a serious problem. Ten percent (10%) say it is not a serious problem and 6% are not sure.

Observers acknowledge these historical highs are a result of the Biden-Harris Administrations failed border and immigration policies. Law enforcement officials, medical centers and citizens are witnessing spikes in both crime and diseases as a result.

Those totals include 57% who consider it a very serious problem and 2% who say it is not at all serious.

🔹Ninety-four percent (94%) of Republicans consider it to be a serious problem.

🔹Eighty percent (80%) of Democrats consider it a serious problem–an all-time high

Yes, he actually said this.

🔹Right at 79% of independents also consider it to be a serious problem–another historical high.

🔹This view is shared by 86% of white voters, 84% of Black voters, and 78% of Hispanic voters.

Alec Baldwin Claims He Did Not Pull Trigger of Fatal Shooting on Movie Set

Actor Alec Baldwin claimed he “didn’t pull the trigger” of the revolver that was in his hand when it was fired, killing a cinematographer and injuring the director on the New Mexico set of the film “Rust.”

ABC News’ released a preview Wednesday of the Baldwin interview set to air Thursday with George Stephanopoulos.

“Well, the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin said.

“So, you never pulled the trigger?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“No, no, no, no no. I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger,” Baldwin responded. “Never.”

Stephanopoulos also asked Baldwin how an authentic bullet was on the film’s set. Baldwin said he had “no idea.”

“Someone put a live bullet in a gun,” Baldwin said. “A bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property.”

Baldwin affirmed that this occurrence was “the worst thing that’s ever happened” to him.

“Because I think back and I think of what could I have done,” Baldwin added.

An affidavit of the October 21, 2021 shootimg revealed that Baldwin was practicing his draw with an antique revolver across his body. When he pointed it at the camera, the gun discharged, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

“Joel stated that they had Alec sitting in a pew in a church building setting, and he was practicing a cross draw. Joel said he was looking over the shoulder of (Hutchins), when he heard what sounded like a whip and then loud pop,” the affidavit stated.

The document noted Hutchins was shot in the chest.

“Joel then vaguely remembers (Hutchins) complaining about her stomach and grabbing her midsection. Joel also said (Hutchins) began to stumble backwards and she was assisted to the ground,” according to the affidavit.

Baldwin described Hutchins as “someone who was loved by everyone who worked with and liked by everyone who worked with, and admired… I mean, even now I find it hard to believe that. It doesn’t seem real to me.”

The FBI and Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the shooting, with law enforcement issuing a new search warrant this week with an intent of finding the source of the live bullet.

Baldwin

“We trust that the FBI will now compare and analyze the ‘live rounds’ seized from the set to evidence seized in the search warrant to conclusively determine where the live rounds came from,” film armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed’s attorney, Jason Bowles, told ABC News in a statement. “The questions of who introduced the live rounds onto the set and why are the central questions in the case.”

Jeffrey Epstein’s Ghislaine Maxwell Trial Primer

Who & What You Need to Know

To begin, Maureen Comey is a prosecutor in the case. Her father is disgraced former FBI Director and elite tool, James Comey.

The one certain point about Ghislaine Maxwell, who goes on trial next week, is that preliminary actions are already controversial. The former girlfriend and so called “madame” of financier Jeffrey Epstein, pleaded not guilty to all six counts and faces up to 80 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

The second point is that mainstream media will be defending their own, and likely their share of using propaganda  to protect some of the famous and powerful connected to the case.

🔹On Monday, U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan in Manhattan said she would allow testimony from two psychologists, Elizabeth Loftus and Park Dietz, the defense has offered as experts.

Dietz is expected to rebut the testimony of prosecution witness Lisa Rocchio, a psychologist expected to discuss how underage sexual abuse victims are “groomed” by their predators.

Political Pandering?

Sen. Chuck Schumer on Tuesday night announced his recommendation that Judge Nathan be elevated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.

In a statement recommending that current White House resident Joe Biden nominate her, Schumer praised Nathan as a “deeply respected legal leader” and emphasized that she would be the second openly lesbian woman to serve as a federal appellate judge.

“Ali Nathan is an outstanding judge for the Southern District of New York and her experience, legal brilliance, love of the rule of law and perspective would be invaluable in ensuring the federal judiciary fulfills its obligation to ensure equal justice for all,” Schumer said.

Biden officially nominated Nathan, who previously served as associate White House counsel for the Obama-Biden Administration, on Tuesday.

🔹Opening statements in the trial begin on Nov. 29 for Maxwell, who prosecutors say procured underage girls for Epstein to sexually abuse from 1994 to 2004. She originally pleaded not guilty and has been incarcerated in a Brooklyn jail since her arrest in the summer of 2020.

🔹Monday, human-rights lawyers François Zimeray and Jessica Finelle announced they were working on behalf of Maxwell’s siblings and filed an action with the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.

The filed document alleges Maxwell, 59, is subject to “inhumane and degrading” conditions in the Brooklyn lockup and that her “ongoing demonization in the media” has jeopardized her right to a fair trial.

Virginia Giuffre

🔹Observers are taking note of a revelation from Virginia Giuffre after a federal appeals court ordered the release of the sealed documents in a lawsuit that Giuffre filed against Maxwell.

The suit indicates, Maxwell, a British publishing heiress was Epstein’s madam. Maxwell has rejected allegations that she has acted as a procurer for Epstein and denied she facilitated Prince Andrew’s acts of sexual abuse and was Epstein’s madam.

Virginia Giuffre revealed that Epstein and Maxwell trafficked her to powerful people for erotic massages and sex. She claimed in 2016 depositions that Maxwell directed her to have sex with former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, Britain’s Prince Andrew (whom she has accused before), wealthy financier Glenn Dubin, former senator George Mitchell, now-deceased MIT scientist Marvin Minsky, and modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, as well as “another prince,” a “foreign president,” a well-known prime minsiter” and the owner of a “large hotel chain” in France.

Epstein and Maxwell

Epstein, who made international news as a jailed registered sex offender, was found dead in a high security cell at New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Center on August 10, 2019 under suspicious circumstances. The Media and officials alleged his death was suicide, but extremely coincidental circumstances (no guards, security cameras not working, not suicidal, concern for his safety, etc.) casts about as much doubt in Epstein’s cause of death as there is on the legitimacy of Biden winning the 2019 Election.

Bill Richardson and Company

🔹New Mexico’s Richardson, the former governor, DNC chairman, and presidential candidate. served as President Clinton’s Energy Secretary and UN Ambassador in the late ’90s. He was reportedly a guest of honor at Jeffrey Epstein’s secluded Zorro Ranch outside of Stanley, New Mexico, and appears in Epstein’s “little black book” of contacts. Giuffre has previously claimed that Epstein transported her to New Mexico as his underage “sex slave.”

Weinstein, Epstein, Maxwell at masquerade birthday party, July 2006.

Richardson returned $50,000 in campaign donations from Epstein after the financier’s 2007 plea deal in Florida.

🔹Others who were part of Epstein social circle include prominent elite figures such as former President Bill Clinton, Supreme Court Justice John Roberts, Prince Andrew, Woody Allen, Harvey Weinstein, Alec Baldwin and others.

Videotaping Sex Encounters For Blackmail

🔹Ex-arms dealer Ari Ben-Menashe claims that Maxwell’s father brought Epstein to Israel in the 1980s to blackmail people for the Jewish state.

Epstein’s mode of operation, according to Ben-Menashe, was taping targets having sex with young women. “Underage girls was his forte,” says Ben-Menashe.

Epstein installed concealed cameras at strategic locations on his properties to allegedly record sexual activity with underage girls by prominent politicans, entertainers, business people, and others for blackmail and persuasion purposes.

🔹Maxwell told friends that Epstein’s private island in the Virgin Islands was completely wired for video.

🔹One friend believed that Maxwell and Epstein were videotaping everyone on the island as an “insurance policy.”

🔹When police raided his Palm Beach residence in 2006, two hidden pinhole cameras were discovered in Epstein’s home.

Jennifer Araoz

“It doesn’t end with her — there are a lot of other people to blame,” testified Jennifer Araoz, who accused Epstein of raping her when she was 15, according to a court document.

🔹Araoz has separately sued Epstein’s estate and Maxwell, claiming that Maxwell “oversaw” the billionaire’s “process.”

🔹Araoz’s attorney, Eric Lerner, is quoted in the documents as stating, “One of the reasons the focus is on Ghislaine is because she has knowledge of that web. But it seems like there’s a lot of powerful men around Jeffrey Epstein who are part of this web who don’t appear to be part of any investigation right now.”

Additional Charges

On March 29, prosecutors unsealed a new indictment against Epstein charging her with two more counts of sex trafficking related to another accuser.

Maxwell

🔹These new charges claim Maxwell groomed and sex-trafficked a 14-year-old girl for Epstein to abuse between 2001 and 2004 at his Palm Beach estate in Florida.

🔹Originally the trial was to begin in July, but was moved to the fall as set by federal U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan. The Manhattan judge indicated this postponement was necessary and appropriate because federal prosecutors added these new charges to the case. COVID-19 protocols made trial preparation more difficult.

Jail Conditions

In October, one of Maxwell’s attorneys, Bobbi Sternheim, wrote to Judge Nathan about his client’s sleep deprivation. She also included a photo of Maxwell with a bruise under her left eye as an exhibit.

“While Ms. Maxwell is unaware of the cause of the bruise, as reported to medical and psych staff, she has grown increasingly reluctant to report information to the guards for fear of retaliation, discipline, and punitive chores,” Sternheim wrote. “However, there is concern that the bruise may be related to the need for Ms. Maxwell to shield her eyes from the lights projected into her cell throughout the night.”

Piers Morgan with Maxwell

According to Sternheim, Maxwell “resorts to using a sock or towel to cover her eyes in an awkward attempt to shield them from disrupting illumination every 15 minutes.”

“Ms. Maxwell continues to be disrupted throughout the night by guards shining a flash/strobe light into her cell, claiming that her breathing must be checked,” Sternheim continued. “The myth that Ms. Maxwell’s conditions of confinement are related to her being a suicide risk was laid to rest during the oral argument: There is nothing to support that contrived claim.”

Maxwell’s attorneys characterized the government’s timing of the trial “obvious tactical gamesmanship” and indicated more preparation was necessary for her defense.

“The Court concludes that the interests of justice justify granting a short continuance,” the judge wrote in her ruling, “Such an adjournment would plainly give the defense team sufficient time to prepare for trial in light of the additional charges contained in the S2 indictment while also ensuring that the trial proceeds without undue delay.”
