The REAL REASON Kent resigned
Joe Kent resigned this week as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Before resigning, he described exactly what he predicted a war with Iran would look like.

Tucker Carlson deemed it “the most reasonable, common sense, factual assessment I’ve seen from anyone.”
But checking the PREDICTIONS against REALITY makes us wonder what Carlson was thinking.
𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱:
𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘺.
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 13 American service members have been killed — a tragedy, and every one matters. But “very bloody” predicted a catastrophic casualty toll. Operation Epic Fury is Day 19 with over 6,000 combat flights flown, Iran’s nuclear program buried, navy destroyed, and top leadership eliminated.
𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱:
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳.
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Iranians danced in the streets when Khamenei was killed. They celebrated Larijani’s death immediately. The regime had to shut down the internet and deploy security forces to stop Iranians from rising up. One doctor called it “the best night of our lives.”

𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱:
𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴.
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Iran’s proxy network — Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis — was already largely dismantled before the war began. The IRGC infrastructure that funded and directed them has been systematically destroyed over 19 days.

𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱:
𝘞𝘦’𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢’𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴.
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: China is now being asked to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz. This is the waterway carrying their own oil. They are being told that failing to do so will affect the Trump-Xi summit. The leverage is reversed.

𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱:
𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘢’𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘹. 𝘈𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺.
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Trump says it will be wrapped up soon. The Iranian people are celebrating in the streets. The regime’s nuclear program is buried under rubble.
This is the man Carlson called the most reasonable analyst he’d ever heard on Iran. This is the man who just resigned as America’s counterterrorism director saying Iran posed no threat.

𝗪𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
Multiple sources described Kent as a “known leaker.” Senior administration officials, including those aware of his role as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center under DNI Tulsi Gabbard, confirmed this.

He was actually removed from White House presidential intelligence briefings several months ago.
He was also excluded from Iran-related planning discussions. This action occurred due to suspected leaks of sensitive or classified information.
One specific claim is that Kent leaked details of a private meeting. This meeting was between President Trump and Mark Levin. Figures like Buzz Patterson and others on X circulated this claim. It was alleged that Tucker Carlson received the leaked details. He admitted to it after being confronted. He was warned that further leaks would lead to firing.
Allies of Trump (including former deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich) publicly called Kent a “crazed egomaniac.” He was often at the center of national security leaks. They suggested his recent resignation was preemptive. They believed he was about to be fired anyway.

Kent was involved in a separate 2025 incident: He was part of a Signal group chat (with officials like Pete Hegseth) discussing sensitive military plans (e.g., Yemen/Houthi strikes), which was somehow shared with a journalist from left-wing The Atlantic.
The chat was leaked publicly, but officials (including Kent during his confirmation hearing) insisted it contained no classified information. No direct blame was placed on Kent for the “accidental” addition of the journalist, and no consequences followed from Trump.
Kent resigned on March 17, 2026, publicly citing opposition to the U.S. war in Iran, claiming it was unnecessary, driven by Israeli pressure, and based on misinformation.
Keen observers framed this as a dramatic exit to avoid being fired over the prior leak suspicions.

In short: Strong accusations of being a serial leaker from Trump-aligned sources, with actions taken or revoking access), but no public evidence of him being formally “caught” via investigation, indictment, or admission of guilt for illegal leaking.
