When Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in 2025 announced a “farmers first” pilot program to support regenerative agriculture, they knew it would not be easy.
Similar to the same push back the Trump administration has endured with immigration, ICE, Big Pharma, and Big Tech, they face similar challenges with saving America’s farms. The administration also deals with criticism from the mainstream media, the World Economic Forum, and dishonest politicians.
“Protecting and improving the health of our soil is critical not only for the future viability of farmland but also for the future success of American farmers,” Rollins said. “To be the most productive and efficient growers in the world, we must protect our topsoil from erosion and boost the microbiome of the soil.”
Rollins said the program is designed to have a lasting impact, making “farms more productive, our land healthier and our water cleaner.”
Kennedy said the plan highlights the administration’s commitment to putting farmers first and advancing the “Make America Healthy Again” initiative.
“In September, under President Trump’s leadership, we released the MAHA Strategy Report, which includes a full section on soil health and land stewardship,” Kennedy said. “Today’s regenerative farming announcement directly advances that deliverable. If we intend to Make America Healthy Again, we must begin by restoring the health of our soil.”
“I will always tell the American people the truth,” Robert F. Kennedy wrote in a message to America last weekend.
“Pesticides and herbicides are toxic by design, engineered to kill living organisms. When we apply them across millions of acres and allow them into our food system, we put Americans at risk.”
“Chemical manufacturers have paid tens of billions of dollars to settle cancer claims linked to their products, and many agricultural communities report elevated cancer rates and chronic disease.”
“Unfortunately, our agricultural system depends heavily on these chemicals,” RFK, Jr. continued. “The U.S. represents 4% of the world’s population, yet we use roughly 25% of its pesticides.”
“If these inputs disappeared overnight, crop yields would fall, food prices would surge, and America would experience a massive loss of farms even beyond what we are witnessing today. The consequences would be disastrous.”
“I support President Trump’s Executive Order to bring agricultural chemical production back to the United States and end our near-total reliance on adversarial nations. His EO protects two pillars of national strength: our defense readiness and our food supply.”
“When hostile actors control critical inputs, they directly threaten the security of the American people. The Trump administration will secure these supply chains to eliminate that vulnerability.”

Kennedy has met with hundreds of farmers and agricultural leaders across the country and says “they understand the pressures firsthand. Chemical inputs cut into margins. Chemical-resistant pests are spreading. Soil health is declining. Foreign markets are shutting out American produce. Farmers want workable alternatives, and they want policies that support transition without threatening their livelihoods.”
