Agents Confiscated Over 373,000 Counterfeit USB Phone Chargers

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on that Customs and Border Protectionโ€™s Houston Seaport Trade Enforcement Team confiscated thousands of fake Apple USB chargers valued at over $7 million.

There were around 7,460 cartons displaying Appleโ€™s logo attempting to cross into the United States through Houston, Texas on Tuesday.

Upon inspection, CBP officials confirmed that all 373,000 lightning phone chargers were counterfeit.

โ€œCriminal networks are using e-commerce to ship their items to unsuspecting consumers and exploit the high volume of cargo processed by CBP,โ€ stated Acting Area Port Director John Landry for CBP port of Houston and Galveston.

โ€œConsumers deserve the real deal when spending their hard-earned money on these products,โ€ Acting Director Landry said.
