Fake Mainstream Legacy Media is Collapsing

We knew is was bad after ratings tanked for David Muir’s “World News Tonight” following his disastrous debate moderating in September.

Viewership for his nightly ABC Newscast dropped by almost ONE MILLION—12%— in the three days following the debate.

Soon after, NBC’s long-running Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon announced plans to trim back its production schedule, airing four nights per week instead of five.

The fact is, audiences for Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel has been on the decline for at least four years. In 2023, Brian Stelter admitted to Los Angeles magazine that CBS’ Late Late Show was losing $15 million-$20 million per year.

On election night 2024, CNN had only 5.1 million viewers as opposed to the 9.6 million people who watched them during the 2020 presidential election.

MSNBC was down to almost 6 million viewers from 7.3 million in 2020.

We suspect that the ratings in 2024 could have been far more catastrophic if it were not for the high volume of viewers who tuned in just for the entertainment value to watch the newscaster and pundit meltdowns.

Big Media is horrible at “reading the room” of viewers.

Of the broadcast networks, ABC had 5.7 million viewers, NBC had 5.3 million and CBS had 3.5 million, Nielsen Ratings revealed.

Broadcast and cable news channels saw steep declines in ratings from Nielsen (finals showed an average of 42.3 million people, down from nearly 57 million four years ago), with the lowest ratings in decades.

For daytime viewing, there has been a decline of 23% for MSNBC and 40% for CNN year over year.

Primetime viewing numbers were worse as CNN has a 30% decline and MSNBC declined an unprecedented 54%.

Conventional news casts are being replaced by citizen journalists and online avenues like X.

Seven MSNBC programs recorded their lowest Friday ratings for the year as the network also saw its lowest-rated Friday prime time programming of the year — outside of holiday weekends.

Very fine people hoax, Russia collusion, Steele dossier, Hunter Biden’s laptop, impeachment, masking, Covid shot efficacy, Biden’s sharp as a tack, Trump’s going to prison. Legit how do you keep going back for more of this? They are wrong on EVERYTHING.”
