Migrant Crime Soars in Woke Chicago

Currently, there are 11,000 migrants living in 23 homeless shelters in Chicago, according to their Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

Thanks to the Biden Administration’s strategic un-American migrant policies and lack of border protection, coupled with progressive Mayor Brandon Johnson’s sanctuary stance, housing migrants has been draining city coffers — Chicago has received more than 37,000 migrants since August 2022.

Did you hear about the illegal alien arrested for sexual assault on the University of Illinois Chicago campus earlier in March?

The 27-year-old Venezuelan migrant, known as both Elvis Hernandez-Pernalete and Luis Guevara, has been arrested after he trailed a woman from the UIC-Halsted Blue Line Station around 8 p.m. on March 16 and attempted to seize her from behind.

He choked the woman into unconsciousness, sexually abused her and stole her personal items and sexually assaulted her before making his escape. The woman was not affiliated with the university as a student or employee, according to campus police.

“[He] actually admits to the police that he believed he had killed her and [is] seen attempting to move the victim’s body,” said Assistant State’s Attorney Maya Hinton. Hernandez-Pernalete ran when he realized a witness saw what was happening.

One City Alderman, Ray Lopez, exposed concerns about individuals in the city who are not thoroughly vetted. He emphasized the need for better coordination with the federal government in identifying and vetting migrant asylum seekers, to understand their criminal history and potential risks they may pose.

Court documents reveal that Hernandez-Pernalete is also accused of attacking a second woman, whom he had followed from a train station. He faces charges of criminal sexual abuse, aggravated battery and strangulation, robbery, and attempted robbery.

Earlier in March, Hernandez-Pernalete was reportedly observed shoplifting from a T.J. Maxx store. A judge denied his pretrial release on Thursday, citing his “pattern of attacking victims from trains.”

He was known to be living at the Standard Club shelter in the Loop, where in January, Franklin Travieso Zerpa, a 31-year-old Venezuelan migrant living there was  arrested three times in three months.

His arrests:

● On October 30. 2023, he was at the TJ Maxx where he stole a suitcase from a display, stuffed it with items, and headed for the door.

● On December 21, Standard Club employees called police to the shelter after they found a “large amount” of marijuana in his bag.

● Later, police saw Zerpa take a suitcase from a Macy’s store display, stuff it with $380 worth of clothing, and walked out the door.
