As the crow flies, I raised my family two miles west of Boerne (pronounced Burn-Nee) Lake and two miles north of Tapatio Springs, a Texas golf resort and community once owned by Country Music legend George Strait.

There was much solitude being the only home on Mountain Top Drive, on a hill towering 1865 feet above sea level, overlooking the Hill Country of Texas.
When I built our home, the population of Boerne, just a six mile drive, was 4,461. My drive to and from my office at H-E-B FOOD/DRUGS Facilities Management in south San Antonio was 44 minutes the first year we moved in. By the time I retired in 2009, the back and forth commute was up to just over three hours daily.
Yes, population growth and traffic exploded over the years. What began as a drive through the countryside ended as a challenging and treacherous trek surrounded by malls, car dealerships, restaurants, movie theater complexes, suburban home tracts and other businesses.

By the time Dodie and I moved an hour northwest, further into the Hill Country community of Medina, Boerne had exploded into a city of right at 21,000. As many towns across America, Boerne went from Mayberry to Peyton Place to Harper Valley.
You know the drill. All the problems of growth, like politics, crime, keeping up with the Joneses, and traffic came with it.
“Boerne has grown 195.6% since the 2000,” a census article I read today, said. “Boerne, Texas is growing extremely quickly; it is growing faster than 96% of similarly sized cities since 2000.”

Boerne is the county seat of Kendall County with a population of 51,078, 49.4% up from the 33,594 who lived there in 2010. For comparison, the US population grew 7.8% and Texas‘s population grew 19.6% during that period.
So far, Kendall County divides their population counts between male and females: 50.3% are female.
What is very obvious to most of us is that this great expansion is taking place, in large part, at the expense of rural lands.

With over two million illegal aliens and legal immigrants arriving every year, urban overpopulation and an urban flight to the suburbs will only worsen.
Before the Joe Biden-Alejandro Mayorkas induced alien invasion, the U.S. Census Bureau maintained the country’s population would reach 404.5 million by 2060 — a 23 percent increase in just four decades.
President Donald Trump was working towards a zero net migration policy, where the population would stabilize at 329 million in 2060.
Higher immigration levels were a benefit at a time in America when cities were not overpopulated, our public transportation, medical communities, infrastructure were not in disrepair, and our entitlement system was not near collapse.

Unrestrained immigration is an undue, criminal, and unnecessary pressure on our cities and suburbs that must be stopped and replaced with immigration levels that reflect a changed nation.
• Today, Forty-three percent of all U.S. land area is used to support agriculture. This percentage has declined by 11.2 percent since 1961. The annual loss of 1.5 million acres a year represents land amounts larger than the entire state of Florida.
• Increasing energy consumption is closely correlated to population growth. From 1961 to 2023 the U.S. population grew by 84 percent while total energy consumption grew by 128.5 percent.

• The human population has now appropriated half of the continental U.S. for its sustenance, leaving native species with increasingly degraded ecosystems.
Across America, cities and towns are challenged to cope with the effects of over-population-induced urban crowding and sprawl. Yet cities and localities have limited ability to slow growth through zoning and planning.

Only the federal government can lawfully adopt measures aimed at stabilizing the population by curtailing mass immigration. Currently, under the Biden Administration, they are throwing gas on the fire.

What is the literacy rate of the illegals crossing our boarders. What degree can they function in english language
Think of the impact on our future generations. If you think our public education system can survive with any resemblances to our rich history you are not living in reality.
Uneducated, dumbed down and suppressed with drugs. Without hope. Gutting manufacturing etc….we dont make the simplist of things in US. Nuts bolts screws. … no skill set, no equiipment, no entrepreneurial drive.

For consideration one way to ease the pain of what’s coming is to make English the official language in the United States
It’s always been understood but without this designation we seem to pander and notStand on good foundation

In socialist and communist foundational countries stealing is not a sin. If it is not bolted down it is ok to take. They live with a completely different moral understanding.

The moment I mention this to anyone, up go the hands over the ears: no one wants to hear it. Illegal invasion has ruined Texas and our country, not hurt it, but ruined it. Uneducated, unskilled people coming her for all they can get for free, period. They will never assimilate or be part of America, but expect us to cater to their culture, which is not what I grew up with, but now it’s crime, drugs and gifting. All this chaos and pain, for what, for them to vote Democratic and have a one-party country. Good reporting, Jack, and I hope all is well in the hill country, me and Momo’s favorite part of Texas.

What a beautiful place. I never heard of Boerne. Texas is so huge. I know the alien battle will soon end.

It’s been a long, horrific time, but the tide is turning. Putting it back together won’t be pretty, but God wants America back and we will work with Him.
