Ex-wife Bijou Phillips Pleads For Liver Donor
Former child actor and “That ’70s Show” star Danny Masterson became the subject of a criminal investigation in 2017. This investigation was led by the Los Angeles Police Department. It began after four women filed sexual assault allegations against him.

He was married to Bijou Phillips from 2011 to 2025 and share a daughter who just turned 12.
Phillips received a kidney in 2017, but it has since failed, leaving her hospitalized as she awaits a new organ to continue living.
She is currently receiving medical care at UCLA Health, where she has resumed dialysis treatments while she awaits the opportunity for a living donor.
The 45-year-old actress had her first transplant nine years ago, thanks to a donation from a friend. Over time, she developed medical issues, including the BK virus, which led to both cellular and antibody-mediated rejection.

Through a social media post featuring photos with her daughter Fianna Francis Masterson, Phillips encouraged her followers to spread the word and consider becoming living kidney donors.
Bijou Phillips is the daughter of former Mamas & the Papas singer-songwriter John Phillips, who passed away in 2001, and his third wife, Genevieve Waite.

Among her half-siblings are former actress Mackenzie Phillips and Chynna Phillips, who was a member of Wilson Phillips.
Charges of rape in three of the cases were filed in 2020 against Masterson. He pled not guilty. A trial was set for October 2022. However, the jury was unable to reach a verdict. This resulted in a mistrial.
In May of the following year, Masterson again went before a judge. He was convicted of two of the three rape charges. The third charge was declared a mistrial.

The actor received a sentence ranging from 30 years to life. He was initially incarcerated at North Kern State Prison. Bail was denied before an appeal hearing. Masterson was then relocated to the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo, California. He will be eligible for parole in 2042.
Masterson’s then wife, actress Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce from the actor in 2023. She obtained full legal and physical custody of their daughter, Fianna, that same year. In 2025, Phillips filed a request with a California court to change their daughter’s last name from Masterson to Phillips.

Masterson starred with Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Topher Grace in “That ’70s Show” from 1998 until 2006. He had reunited with Kutcher on the 2016 Netflix comedy “The Ranch.” However, he was written off the show. This happened when the Los Angeles Police Department investigation was revealed the following year.
Bijou Phillips made her film debut in 1999 with ‘Black and White’, and throughout the 2000s appeared in movies such as ‘Almost Famous’, ‘The Door in the Floor’, ‘Havoc’, and ‘Hostel: Part II’.
