Michelangelo’s Moses is a marble sculpture made in 1513–15. One of the details of this masterpiece is one very small muscle in the forearms that contracts only when lifting the pinky, otherwise it is invisible. Moses is lifting the pinky, therefore that tiny muscle is contracted.

Physics doesn’t limit making planes bigger, wider, or longer. The real issues are practicality, safety, and cost.
- Economics: Big planes (over 500 passengers) aren’t efficient. They need larger runways, stronger engines, and longer boarding times, which increases costs.
- Safety: Planes must be evacuated in 90 seconds. Wider planes make it harder for passengers to reach exits quickly.
- Airport Design: Taller planes need multi-storey jet bridges and redesigned terminals, which most airports don’t have.
- Engineering: Very long planes face structural stress, making them unsafe.
These challenges make super-sized planes impractical.

Norway is building the 16.5-mile Rogfast tunnel, a groundbreaking underwater route with floating sections, to dramatically cut travel times.
The tunnel will cut 11 hours from Norway’s E39 coastal highway, reducing the 21-hour journey from Trondheim to Kristiansand.
It will also make commuting to Stavanger and Bergen easier on the 680-mile route, which currently requires seven ferry crossings.
Set to open by 2033, this $2 billion project will reach depths of 1,300 feet underground, allowing drivers to cross in just 35 minutes.

Researchers say shading canals and rivers with solar panels could save 63 billion gallons of water each year —and generate about 13 gigawatts of energy.

Rogfast tunnel would be 16 miles of sheer terror. I’d do the Moses bridge with a life jacket. Those jets could fetch a lot of money at the recycling center. 🙂

No way I would do any of them. The high skinny wobbley bridge between San Diego and Coronado Island scared me so bad I had to take a Valium to go back across to SD, and I was a young feller too.

Looking at that 3D crosswalk long enough. My eyes strarted to crossover, and the crosswalk strarted to sway back forth. That would definitely deter speeders.
I tried lifting the pinky and seeing feeling the muscle like the Moses statue. Wasn’t as pronounced as Moses statue unfortunately.
Love this types of stories. God job

I tried the pinky-muscle test too. Sure enough! All that muscle for one tiny pinky! No other digit moved it.
That Moses bridge, I could do. That crosswalk is the work of a genius, but how in the sam hill do they prevent it from causing pile-ups in that town? I would slam on my brakes, seeing that thing. The tunnel? Astounding. They’d have to make is so crash-proof though. I think I’d like to try it, if I ever get to Norway. After all, look at the old bridges we have to cross every single day. In cars, which is taking your life in your hands anyway. I love the giraffe. That’s cool
Weather report: It’s warming up. It’s 19 degrees here today, a vast improvement over yesterday’s high of 14. I’m in three layers and a wool hat.
