David Daleiden is the citizen journalist held in high esteem by millions of Americans known for conducting investigative research on the abortion industry.
He is renown as the investigator who recorded a Planned Parenthood executive joking about pricing baby parts who said, “I want a Lamborghini.”
He describes himself as the result of a “crisis pregnancy,” born while his parents were in their junior year of college.
“I always grew up with the understanding that some people have kids in less than fully intended situations and there’s nothing wrong with that,” he said.
When Kamala Harris ran for the Senate of California in 2016, she was exposed with her strong connections to the abortion industry.
“The fact that Ms. Harris is seizing private property of a pro-life California activist who has exposed horrific practices conducted by Planned Parenthood, which donated thousands to her last campaign, while her Senate campaign promotes and defends them — the nation’s largest abortion provider — is a conflict of interest and abuse of government power,” Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony List, said in a statement. “Ms. Harris should resign from her attorney general post and end her bid for the U.S. Senate. She has abused her government office and no longer deserves the public trust.”
Students for Life of America and Concerned Women for America also released a statement:
“California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who sent agents to raid the home of a citizen journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood’s practices of harvesting and selling the body parts of aborted babies, is using her Senate campaign website to advocate for the abortion giant, promoting a petition to defend Planned Parenthood,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.
“Kamala Harris is engaged in the highest level of corruption and abuse of power. While she uses her KGB-like tactics to seize personal property of an innocent American citizen,” the Concerned Women of America CEO and president followed up. “The American people and the citizens of California have had enough of corrupt politicians who abuse their power for political gain.”
Daleiden had posed as Robert Daoud Sarkis, an employee of Biomax Procurement Services LLC, a fake company he began to serve as a front for his investigative operation. He registered the company with the California secretary of state, set up a mock Web site and created Facebook pages for his fake employees.
In 2013, Daleiden started The Center for Medical Progress to pursue sophisticated, deep, and impactful investigative journalism projects pertaining to contemporary bioethical issues.
As Project Lead at CMP, David developed and executed the organization’s first long-term project, the 30-month-long “Human Capital” investigation documenting Planned Parenthood’s illegal sale of body parts from aborted fetuses.
“Our investigators spent almost three years deeply imbedded with Planned Parenthood and their affiliates,” Daleiden said. “And we heard from their own mouths, over and over, again and again, that they make money off of selling the parts of aborted babies and have a profit motive in doing so.”
“Turning aborted babies into a revenue stream is an inhuman exploitation of the not fully dead,” Daleiden continued.
“They are saying that some unborn babies are more valuable dead than alive. It’s a terrible, barbaric place for a democratic society to go.”
“This is no surprise — Planned Parenthood’s bought-and-paid-for AG has steadfastly refused to enforce the law against the baby body parts traffickers in our state, or even investigate them — while at the same time doing their bidding to harass and intimidate citizen journalists,” Daleiden said in a statement. “We will pursue all remedies to vindicate our First Amendment rights.”
