George Strait Sets Two New Records With Concert and His Shirt

Saturday night George Strait set an all time attendance record at the Buckeye Country Superfest as 63,891 fans were at his Columbus, Ohio show.

Silent bid results for the SHIRT Strait wore on stage topped off at $45,032.

The money goes to The Jenifer Strait Memorial Fund.

In 1986, Strait and his family started the Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation in memory of his beloved daughter.

According to its website, “The Foundation promotes charitable causes for children, and focuses its donations on various non-profit organizations, including; The Boys & Girls Club- San Antonio and St. Jude’s Ranch.”

It has also survived “mainly through private donations, which has come mostly by word-of-mouth from friends, and from Strait fans through the years.”

    • Thank you. I corrected it. Just the few times we’ve talked about her together (even in way back in college) he referred to as his “girl.”
The last time we talked, I believe it was 2017, he stilled said “girl.” I guess it left an impression on me, but I should have known better for this article. I’ve always shied-away from writing about her out of respect to him and Norma.
